Eur/usd to 1.05.

NFP tonight will confirm rate rise later this month, which Yellen has all but confirmed anyways.

This "event" was a good reset, cleared out all the shorts and ran the dollar back up to an acceptable level from which to make a move.

Holding short from 0970 and will run this down.

*Note: have crystal ball.

What was the fundamental reason for these big moves? I don't watch the news but I'm curious.
Before Forex I was tall, and clean shaven. Now I am an Ewok.

ECB didn't deliver as much QE as was anticipated + a market stacked to the short side and a "cascade" effect on stops + lack of liquidity and orders at higher levels.

These events seem to happen at least a couple of times a year now.

Seems like it, but I fortunately don't have to agree with your vision.

On a serious note, if you were BMW or another large European organisation with exposure to EURUSD exchange risk, and you needed hedge your currency exposure with an outlook of mid 2016, would you be planning for a higher or lower EURUSD over that timeframe?

Interesting. Today's rally stopped at the .618 fib which was March 13 low @ 1.0458x to August high @ 1.1794x.
