This is a trade I would have taken if I were at my PC. It has everything I want to see. Look at the guppies... They are up and spreading apart... Uptrend. Series of HHs and HLs on PA... Uptrend. So once I know the pair is trending up, I just need a reason to buy. I want to enter after a retracement, to buy cheap. So I see a series of red APBs. Retracement in progress. I then see that the last red APB is smaller, then a blue APB shows up, very small, with red wicks. It is a spinning top, which shows indecision, therefore I know chances are that the...

Thanks, Stefan!
That is my view on the ideal entry, and I will always take this kind of setup. Of course, a good setup does not mean it will always be a winner.
I'll come back later. I need to go see the dentist. Too many teeth in my mouth.

Hi,

I downloaded your indicator, but it doesn't have those options you suggest and I am also missing the email function. Did you upload the right indicator? Thanks for your help.

there are not many entries often enough on the daily I think 4hr would be suitable for me
Ignored

that's not true.

there are 24 x H1 candles in one Day, you have 24 entry opportunities.

there are 6 x H4 candles in that same Day, you only have 6 entry opportunities in that same Day.

I prefer H1 over H4.

Look at USDJPY Day chart, who are buyers and who are sellers today?
Tomorrow, do you want to joint the buyers or the sellers? This important question you must decide after today Day candle close.
When the Day candle closed, it offers you 4 prices - its Open, High, Low and Close OHLC.
Tomorrow, you will have 24 opportunities to make an entry.

Dear Emmanuel,
one of the pillar of the me/me is to define the bias so if you decide to go long, you make another entries if the price go down to get a better average entry price. fine.
So to define the bias, could you confirmed me that for H4, you Look at W1 trend and assume that if the last 2 weeks are bearish in a bull trend and if the w1 closes below ema10, your bias for the week would be bearish.
Or if you could try to explain (once again ) what are your rules?

Thank you so much.

{quote} Hi, Being an investor-trader, I am in the market all the time. I don't sit by and wait for trade setups opportunity. As investors, we trade the longer term and the wonderful thing about trading the higher timeframe H4/D1/dW1 is to use Multiple Entries / Multiple Exits ME/ME strategy to be in the market all the time to make money. That red rectangle trade you highlighted is not the first trade in a new basket of trades. It is the 3rd open trade after 2 previous trades were running. There were previous two other trades that were closed earlier...

Wide range bar. It is exactly what the name says: a candle much bigger than the average. As per Big Emm's teachings, we expect consolidation after a WRB, and we must trade in the LTF, either within the range of WRB, or the breakout of the WRB.

Here is a trade I would have taken today, if I could.
GA, H4. Triangle break to the downside by good APB (the arrow candle), confirmed by TDI.
I hope you went into this trade, which moved for 73 pips.

WRB = Wide Range Bar ... its the real price bar ***not Japanese candle, not the APB.

because we use the APB which we refer to as candles, I will call the price bars as price bars. If I use Japanese candlesticks, it will confuse when when I use candle for both the APB and Jap candles.

see example below

its is one of the method I use to identify the market condition and determine the market type.

WRB appears early before the price bars after it, therefore you have an early warning of the market.

The pillar of successful trading is:

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.

If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.

If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

{Sun Tze – The Art of War}

We need to know the market type we trade.

TMS 5-Method is trend trading methodology.
It is good when when there is a trend and we can trade that trend.
But when the market is sideways, this is when we need to know the range of the sideways market.
We can trade the wide range sideways market type.
But we must avoid trading the narrow range sideways market type.

Therefore knowing the market type is most important when we want to trade with ME/ME.

Rule No.1 - Know the Market Type

Catalin nice clean charts you have there. Is the ADR indicator you use the paid for TDI one? Im looking for a simple ADR indicator other than the XADR ones.

And here are my H4 trades from last night. Both losers. Upon examining them, I now know why I lost.
GA: Not trending market, but ranging (the guppies tell the whole story), and PA was not at the bottom or top, but in the middle of that range. I longed right into the triangle upper line (which I did not see at that moment).
Attached Image (click to enlarge)

UC: I went long into the resistance and right into the inner TL, which I did not see at that moment.

The Japanese candle closed above the bodies of the other candles in the resistance area, and the previous Japanese candle formed an engulfing twins pattern. That is why I was inclined to think it will keep going up.

I need to pay more attention to these "little things", not rush into trades without thorough analysis, and trade what is there, not what I think will be there.

yes, I know many people here want to learn to trade and become long term profitable traders.

But the hard truth is you will not find it here in FF.

Statistics says 95% of traders fail. This 95% is used by some people to scare other people. I think that % is much less. Nevertheless, you do not want to be part of the statistics in any way. Be yourself, find your own way.

FF is a great place for social meeting of some people wanting to become traders.
