DXY looks poised to break out to new multi-year highs (along with Gold doing the opposite) so I expect USDJPY to continue its uptrend much further.

Usd/Jpy has managed regain to around 123.40 level, the pair is back to close to positive territory. I think we have to wait to see today's FOMC minutes to determine near term direction.

....the FED rate is not lifted until it actually moves. Until then all you have is vapour-ware.

ahh, thanks for enlightening me exodus. New to the game, still trying to figure out how certain fundamentals affect the overall trend. So far my investing for dummies book is all the info I have, any suggestions where to find more info? or is it just an experience game? Thanks! In long at 123.50, hope I can ride this one for a while!

BOJ Statement on Monetary Policy

1. At the Monetary Policy Meeting held today, the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan decided, by an 8-1 majority vote, to set the following guideline for money market operations for the intermeeting period. The Bank of Japan will conduct money market operations so that the monetary base will increase at an annual pace of about 80 trillion yen. 2. I just read an article that Japan's Exports slide for first time in 14 months which most likely means that the YEN is not weak enough lol..

Normally a rate rise would be supportive of UJ moving up, however the FED has been promising a rise for some months now ... so believe it when you see it. Also the UK rate rise which was pencilled-in for September, has just gone out to 2017 ... apparently.

QE unlikely, so Yen not weakening due to BoJ meddling ... just at the moment anyway
