Ok, I see. Funny thing is I've been using range charts for the last several years, and 123's and 2B's are my preferred set ups. But Uisng a line on close changes my perspective in a way that I will have to train myself to see. I would not usually consider that to be a 2B situation. I am not arguing or disagreeing ... just noting a difference in how we perceive the same thing. Thank you both

EDIT: And I while I have traded CL in the past, it is not on my regular list. My interest in exploring the use of line on close range charts is piqued.

You know, H, I'm finding that often there are good trades from the LO (the thicker pale grey vertical line at 0900 on my CET chart, where the shaded blue Asian session ends). Today there was :

123 short off High : Win
123 trend continuation short : +1 b/e
2b long off Low : Lose
2b-ish resumpttion short : Win
123 long off Low as marked : Win
2b short as marked : Win

I'm just sayin'...

DD you may not get as many signals but on days market moves same principle apply for es

2 things we would need to redefine where we are looking for trend direction but more important than that is volume which really doesn't happen till 830

By the way on chart posted after 2b won there's a 123 at bottom of the market did it trigger

Here you go Divergence ... looks like a 123 of sorts triggered, but it would be a counter trend 123, as the trend is down and no trend line has been broken. A 2B short triggered at 78, which I would have taken if we were not so close to the inventory announcement.

At top and bottom of market we take 123 and 2b counter trend trades. Dont know if it triggered but after that another 2b to get get back in trend
I only look to get 1 net win a day 4 days a week with 3 or 4 lots for me that's plenty to live off of

Ok today nothing so far yesterday 123 at bottom of market and 123 to get back in trend what platform is that

ok are they standard range bar where a new bar forms on 19th tick or range met when new bar forms after 18 ticks. I use standard look at chart posted before yours you will see a difference

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. Post report today I came up with the following potential trades on the 18t chart (I understand that you stop trading by 11:30 AM Eastern - this is for exercise purposes only): short 2B @ 70, short 123 @ 55, long double bottom 123 @ 53, long 123 @ 84, long 2B @ 06, long 2B @ 01

As I understand your trade management, all but the first would have been good for a 15 tick profit. The first would have been either +8 ticks or BE. This assumes I understand your trade management.
