I am sharing this for sincere opinion from FF community of its viability in long term trading. I have limited resources for backtests and forward tests and hope those that do willl have a look and give their opinion.

The system is actually an offshoot of Divergence Flag Trading in this thread and mostly evolve from this post by Clivepackham here.

I noticed that it needs fast fingers for entry at the 1pip high/low of sub (signal) bar, so I sent an EA request to Ronald Raygun on his website which he graciously obliged freely and also gave permission for its share on FF here.

I did manual backtests from February till September and had only 1 losing month. I traded live on Alpari in October and November with win/loss/be of 35/20/16 and 31/19/8 respectively.

The EA is all that is required for the system. I include a copy of valid short and long trades with setable parameters.

The EA is based on this rule:
Trading Hours: Frankfurt Open to London Close (not yet included in EA)
System Setup:
1. 3 CCIs period 8,40,120 apply to Typical Price (HLC/3)
2. SMA period 10 apply to Median Price (HL/2).
Trading Rule:
TimeFrame: 1min
Setup 1 - The bar when all 3 CCIs move above 50 at same time is signal bar.
Setup 2 - Initially CCI 120 is above 50, then the bar when the 2 remaining CCIs move above 50 is signal bar.
Setup 3 - Initially CCI 40 is above 50, then the bar when the 2 remaining CCIs move above 50 is signal bar.
Signal bar Low must be less than 2.4pips from the SMA and less than 11pips from last fractal/low.
Enter Long if any next 3 bars break High of the signal bar by 1pip. SL 15pips, TP 16pips. Move to BE at 10 pips
Short is as above when the rules are met below -50

If there is anything to add, will always edit this first post.

I have trouble viewing it too. Is this a lagging indicator that is used for confirmation?

Only on 1min. CCIs 40 and 120 are actually a way of showing 5m and 15m TF on the 1min and getting them in agreement on momentum.

The EA is complete and trades of itself. The indicator is only for self-visual. And of course the lagging is as of all indicators.

Hi fosters,

I'm testing your EA, but it took a trade where you see the green arrow, and didn't took some candle before (same conditions: > 2.4 dist from 10 sma, 3 cci up) Why?

Where you see the red arrow, instead it was ready for a short trade (red line made by EA) but then cancelled it....
Can you explain me better how this EA works?

Thanks!

You could use MAs' instead of the CCI windows?

Price crossing the 100SMA = CCI 120 crossing the 50 level and

Price crossing the 25 SMA = CCI 40 crossing the 50 level...

On the green arrow please can you mark the signal bar with maybe a dashed vertical line so that the time can show, or give the time of the bars it didn't take.
The short that was cancelled must be that the trade 3 bars after the signal bar did not exceed the low of signal bar by 1pip. The valid trade on my Alpari platform was taken 4 bars later which I think has to do with broker feed differences.

Most likely 5 SMA Median.

Better to use something like 15 Smoothed median

yes that's the spirit! As i said in the opening post, I have very limited resources for testing, hence the thread. Please can you work on the M5 and share your findings with us?

thanks for your input. From the little visual backtests I did, the SMAs don't seem to work better than the CCIs unless there are some other things I am yet to know about them.
