I am wondering what if the market really isn't moving on technical!
Let be a pause in the system or an introduced new currency: Forexfactory/usd
Now we know the usd has effects on economy.
Let introduce another currency: Metatraders/usd
So we have a cross, fresh news pair: Forexfactory/Metatraders, other whatever ABC/DEF pair.
Now how to trade this:
- no info, probably less are trading.
- some has an idea "let's try to go up" and you will make the first tick, buy purchasing it.
At this moment, you just purchased the highest offer, so the offers price will go down.
- some will see and it say , hey it is not going up, but is going down, they will withdraw the pending sale orders and will make a sale @ marker or pending buy. In case of become a seller: the offers will go down, because he withdraw the pending sale and he will purchase a pending buy the lowest one.
The spread start to widening.
And at some point it will start moving . Until to a level which is considered oversold or overbought by most of the market players, then reverse.
While moving you can draw many indicators you want maybe from thousands of lines will math a series exactly the movement, but that is just a coincidence.
Maybe when there is a movement some bigger players will come to make an earthquake here too and double - triple they money by manipulating it.
Pls check the bitcoin/usd example: huge spike from nowhere.

Dukascopy's JForex it shows it, at Metatrader I don't know, the Deep of the Market doesn't show for me, if there is the place.

Weren't info enough for the next 30-50-100 pip.

In the Reminiscences of Stock operator he could read the tape, it is somewhat see the L2 correctly and use it, but also we can see how much times is moving the price in the M1 chart.
If there is a bull and bear fight ( at news) the price will go very fast up and down maybe in range of 1-3 pips ( not really worth to trade with 1.5 spread+commission)
I wrote an indicator to check it:
The surprise it is useless this info - or I don't how to use it yet. Sometimes there at ticks ( not volume, but ticks) and not enough movement otherwise movement is high tick less.
I have others too like volume / movement:

but didn't helped me to much.
Right now I have discovered what about 5-6 years ago: the market not on indicators is moving

9 times out of 10 most people look for others to tell them how to use it and then they lose.
9 times out of 10 the person who consistently pulls in a positive return in any market has done their own analysis and would never risk capital because someone else says this trade will work.

I bet everyone from here know how to make an equity curve linearly increasing and the pips maybe isn't increasing or is negative...
Or what is happen exactly when at back test / optimization you have a profit factor above 6 and the equity curve raised exponentially.

Then they are out and it is no push: the market will start ranging ( there is working the ranging systems, huge DD for trending systems from consecutive loss)
Another news are coming and the loop begins again.
This news are 2-3 / month: bank rate announcements: or has impact or no impact, news dependent.
When is an impact it will be visible for 2-3 month, when no impact just a local circus at D1, H4 chart.
