DislikedI'm afraid the back testing I have done for inverse as well forward that we discussed in "Lucky Spike" thread has to be disregarded. I forgot, FXDD has recently changed the spread policy. It used be fixed 2 pips no matter when, so testing after markets closed was no problem. But they have changed that (without telling anyone) so that in slow times the spread goes to 4 pips. Most of the time it is 2 pips, but sometimes it goes to 3 pips or 4 pips or even 5 pips for EURUSD, so I guess it is semi fixed spread. I talked on the chat with them and they...Ignored
Dislikeddepending on what you signed-up for it might be well within their reasonable scope to do whatever they want with the spread, but i wouldn't know so just throwing that out there... plus, it's not their fault an ea doesn't do the necessary checks.
an old rule of thumb is that if a program isn't doing what it should be doing it's never the computer, never the user, and is 100% always the fault of the programming....Ignored

DislikedThanks for the feedback..
When I opened the account 2 years ago the advertising was fixed spread.
But then again there can always be some fine print somewhere.
It just makes sense, common courtesy, that after years of 2 pips fixed if there is going to be a change made there would at least be an announcement. JMHO
Actually I didn't have a live account with an ea set up at the time, but if I had been set up it would have been a problem for sure.

Dislikedmarket is a game of probability, its 50/50 over infinite amount of time, we can control only our entries, which need to be low risk or high probability of us being right. the key is to identify these zone/areas that if 60/40 for starters or 80/20 or even 99/1 for the pros. im nowhere near pro yet, but hopefully this vibrant forum can help on this road. area of support of resistance come to mind when thinking of areas where probability is shifted to not being 50/50 for the immediate short-term.Ignored
Dislikedyeah it would have been nice to have had a heads-up that the spread situation was going to change. i'm just of the opinion that most places and people are not specifically trying to screw other people over and mistakes get made no matter what, so it's really up to the individual to be on their toes. if you do that then i figure you will be better-off when you do get shafted and also when mistakes happen.
it's better to account for what could happen than bet that it won't.Ignored
