Does anyone know where the numbers shown in Basket Writer LHS come from?

A while back, while watching the older videos, I took some notes. About this part I wrote down: the number in the crosses screen is a strength number; the higher the number, the more solid a pair is. The strength number is calculated by subtracting the higher value from the lesser value - eg: EUR-CAD= strength number.

PS: A lot of these details are cloudy for me right now as I don't use Basket writer that much. Hope this answered your question

i do not remember exactly but there where a lot of discusstion in old days like a filter to calculate the strength of each currency, it is like a heat map. i think in Casino you can find it in the upper left corner and you can merge them in one graph. it is relevant to use them. Mr. Seller did a very great job.

Thanks but it doesn't really give me a definitive answer ...
I understand that they may be important but if someone is going to place some credibility on them they should know where they come from, e.g. EUR-CAD= strength number, is in HR1 Eur = -39 and Cad = 48, so EUR-Cad = -39-48 = -87 ?? or even -39+48 = 9 does not equate to what actually happened over the period?

I believe that some, e.g. SMKNY, use these numbers for their pair selections??

Thats the currency-corrolation
You can compare with the currency-corrolation from the live feed at http://fxtrade.oanda.com/analysis/currency-correlation.
As per your calculation highlighted above, you may consider a simple example like your left hand is negative values and your right hand is positive value. There fore to know the difference in currency-corrolation, you will have to ignore the negetive on your lefthand to be able to know the exact difference in distance (currency-corrolation)
so you will have lefthand to middle or your chest 39 plus the middle to your right hand 48 = 87
On the other hand if both were say positive it means the are both above the middle point ie 0 and there fore the currency-corrolation 48 - 39 = 9

I use renko+cc1 as pin1, no other filters.

Is there a way to add a filter to open trades only in the direction of the trend?

Upon to you what is the best tool : renko+cc1 or HAS?

that means only when your equity reached 2.50, then it will lock 2.21. from your picture, it never went to 2.50, so it won't lock your equity.

there is already a trend filter built in, just make sure the Trnd button is selected (next to pin1 and pin2 buttons near top right of the dash)

The trend button takes the direction from multiple time frames and gives you an overall direction. Instead of a PDF Seller9 has been nice enough to make multiple detailed videos. From setting everything up correctly, to using the plug ins and even some helpful hints on how you may be able to make a few pips. The video link can be found on page 1.

TRADING COMPETITION - Looking for participants

Hello fellow traders, I'm looking at a CASINO demo trading competition. For those that are testing out new systems that think they may have a some what profitable system but want to test it out against other traders before going live with it. Unsure if Seller9 would want this sort of thing clogging up his thread so I will need to get permission for people to be posting results here. If not we can create our own thread for results.

- The idea is a bit of friendly competition may help drive us to put in the extra hours needed to become better traders.
- Get to know what other traders are doing, it's all good for people to post a screen shot of a profitable day but it would be good to know if that system will stand up over the week, month etc.
- Get to know your fellow traders. Trading can be an isolated experience, this may help to put systems, strategies to the persons profile.

Start Date : Monday 12th October
Finish Date : Friday 6th November
Starting Account : $5000 USD

Rule 1 - If you get busted you are out of the competition
Rule 2 - You need to have expressed interest and posted your strategy by Monday the 12th to be involved. Try and explain your strategy in detail with all the settings etc.
Rule 3 - You can not change your strategy mid way through this competition. Example - changing things like TSL to a fixed SL is fine but changing from using HAS to CCI is too much of a change and wont give good results. It is better if you stick to your system from the get go but for those that are still in a transition stage and want to join then you can still tweak as you go.
Rule 4 - Post your results, either here or on a new thread for the results. I will do a daily table, weekly and the final monthly table. This way we can have daily winners, weekly winners and the overall winner. You will have to set your start balance to the $5000.00 starting level and leave it for the 4 week challenge, so we can easily see your Cycle P/L. We will need to see your Max Equity DD daily as well so refreshing Casino daily is needed.

This is just an idea and something I thought some people may be interested in. Any other things that people would like to see in a competition then post your ideas.

Let me know your thoughts or if anyone is interested.

By your screenshot your Equity Lock is set to $2.21 AFTER you have achieved at least $2.50 profit.

Since, by your narrative, the market only reached a profit of $2.34, the Equity Lock had not been triggered yet.
