Hi Guys,

Do you have any 'Back Test' results for the MathTrader7 EA.
I'm working on a Renko EA/Bot and it would be interesting to compare results if you have any.

Guys, you should be very attentive about Strategy Tester results... With my friend we developed about 30 versions of EA during 2 months and most of them were showing wonderful equities, but in real testing on demo it was disaster. The main problem is, that Renko charts are terrible repainting ones because of missing the tick data. The lowest at any broker are M1 data, so Renko EAs and Renko indicators takes the lowest available M1 data from platform. This causes that wicks are absolutelly repainted and you really can shut them off. So the versions that we have created on wicks base are fails. Actually I uses 2 pips Renko bricks on DAX and there is another "suprise" one - sometimes when you refresh your chart, some correct bricks will be deleted and there is nice trend Fortunately, larger bricks did not repaints, only wicks.

I have really no idea how to fix this problem, only solution is buy a tick data and your bTests will be 99,9% accurate, same as your strategy tester results. You need only few thousands dollars in addtion to buy them .

Or use a platform which has all special charts (Renko, Range Bar and so on) already integrated, like Sierra Charts.

- This week we are testing the newest EA, but it is still about that same thing - some condition of market give us huge gain during few minutes, and than it is big DD and again some gain, and again DD. This is magic circle of most systems.... I have developed a hot version just before few minutes, we will code it and I hope that it will be finally solution that we are looking for, than I will post everything about it to my thread.

BTW - Mathtrader7, do you still trade with your EA ?

welcome back I thought you were gone from this thread for good. I have checked on several trades on real account and I am sure that I have identical settings on the EA and chart. In fact i am using 20,3,3 as default in the EA. The issue is that the EA is taking trades around the support and resistance areas. Incidentally for the EA, in most cases the S/R fall in oversold and overbought region of the the stoch filter. I feel the EA can do much better filtering of losing trades if the stoch filter is in working order. In fact i have been contemplating on using the previous version 2.98 (the first version with stochastic filter, in hopes that 2.98 version would have the correct algorithm) on my real account but fear that it has a known trailing stop loss bug.
Another idea that I think would be further helpful is ...... if we have the stochastic filter to allow buy trades ONLY when the stoch is in the oversold region (like >80) and sell trades when the stoch is in overbought region(<20). We will have less trades but quality trades.
If we can improve the wining ratio this could be a nice profitable EA. I found the slope filter to be counterproductive. It significantly restricts the number of trades but doesn't improve the winning rates. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I developed a 2 new versions finally today morning, now I wait for code. And what about results with your new EA that you developed ? Can you share a principe on which it is works or something about it ?

Hi MT7,

Thank you. Can you please attach the version you have tested. I always have the 'Enable Stochastic Filter?' set to true. Perhaps I am using an incorrect version since all the ex4 versions are named the same.

Wish you all the best with your EA. I found out, that the scalping is probably the only way how to get success with automatic trading system, that is why all of our versions are scalpers.

Only question - what mean BB, Bollinger bands ?

For the moment, it might be helpful for those who are curious that I use BB (moving average+standard deviation) only for trailing stop (identifying an exit point not an entry point).
