loaded quention. If shit gets so bad that we need QE4, it might not help in the short run. Sure, WS loves the cheap money, but a vote of confidence from the Fed w/ a series of rate hikes would maybe rally US equities, even bring long bond rates lower.

Kind of my thoughts....I don't think at this point it'd be good in any sense, it'd probably be akin to the guy bluffing all in with 2-7 agasint a K-K and getting called on it. embarrassingly weak.

IB approved me to trade FX conversions on my Roth. Blue = approved, although I'm not sure why it's grayed out

I'll have to see how it goes. Switching everything I have over to IB. I'm getting tired as hell from TOS, and the more I research the more I see issues with their customer service and at times- misleading approach to business.

I have no complaints about TDA/ToS - other than their pricing, and that's almost the whole enchilada. IB, on the other hand, is second to none for fair price (although I haven't looked absolutely everywhere) - but, if you need service, well.....IB is not built for comfort....

Their platform is meh at best. (IB)

I like that you can customize the whole thing...but fibs are my bread and butter....and well- I haven't figured out a way to add additional fib ratios (if it's possible at all). So that one thing ruins it all for me.

I'm just fed up with trying to fix TOS....and I can use the excuse that all of my trading takes place under one roof now. As you said, the price is second to none....and FX pricing on TOS is The grass is always greener right?

You can use Ninjatrader with IB.
Their Fib retracement has 10 adjustable levels & then you can use the Fib extentension for 10 more adjustable levels. That may not work depending upon how you draw your fibs.

Been with tda/tos thru a couple of name changes and for my 2 cents , their customer service is excellent . No complaints at all . Fast response etc , etc .


As far as fibs go , you can set up to 15 levels at whatever ratio you want . I can post a screenshot if you want .

Good luck with the changeover to IB . Don't know anything about them .

Us gdp 3.9%, unemployment rate 5.1%, how can people imagine a new qe with such figures ?
Imo we are, by far, closer to a rate hike in dec. Im just wondering how the disclosure of a detailed extension of the ECB QE will be a brake for the FED to hike this year.

This is true. Up until now I haven't ever had a problem with TDA or TOS, that isn't what I wish to convey; however, if I can't access the platform I can't trade....and I'm away of the TOS fib ratios, was very pleased with that...and the TOS platform in general.

I don't believe there will be a QE4 either. Never say never though..

I'll run the free demo of ninja trader this evening and get a feel for it....the issue I'm seeing is the inability to trade options or equities through it....which can be mitigated I suppose with another platform.

A question I have, is do the spread prices stack? For example, will I pay both ninja trader and IB for a futures contract...or just pay ninja? Perhaps they are just the middle man and collect the prices for IB in which case I'd only be paying IB spread...God knows I'm not paying twice for something I could have paid for once.

Make sure you're not mixing Ninjatrader platform & Ninjatrader broker. They confused things about a year ago when they became a broker. I just use the Ninjatrader platform with IB & NOT the Ninjatrader broker. Ninjatrader is just a trading tool for me.

Ninjatrader broker only has futures trading I think but not sure which is why you should just use Ninja for a tool & not a broker if you want to trade options & equities as I do. There are no additional commissions on top of the spread/commission from the broker for using Ninja. If you use Ninja with IB you have to buy it or pay a monthly fee to use it. I paid for a lifetime license (one-time fee) to use it.

***Sign up for a free demo with Ninja broker just to try the platform then you can buy/lease to use with IB if you like it.

My personal experience as IB is one of my brokers. IB gives you a free license to use Ninjatrader platform. You can run it just like an MT4 and trade for 'free' only paying IB commissions, or you can just watch & customize the Ninjatrader charts & then trade directly thru IB. Ninjatrader allows you to set up blackbox automated trading, also for free, but you have to program it yourself.
