Hi, I even think that the NFP number per se is not the main problem as the unemployment is now near/under the natural rate. What may be bigger problem is that we got 0 wage growth because I think the FED logic is that if we get under/close the natural rate of unemploymeb it will create a presure to wage growth and through that we will see the inflation to pick up, i.e. once we get under the NAIRU (= non accelarating inflation rate of unemployment) the inflation will go up as the pressure will overweight the "trasitory factors" keeping the inflation low. However, this September reading does not suggest the mechanism is working right now.

It all just proves that FED is terribly behind the curve that it was a huge mistane not to hike around June 2015.

I still think that the main incentive of the FED to hike is to get out of lower bound rates for its structural impact on the mal/investments and to avoid the whole cloud of unknown economic theory and reality of 0 interest rates. And there was opportunity for that around June - now that are just looking for reasons to hike - and this employmenr-inflation relationship was the only theory left to legitimaze rasing rates in December and I wonder how they gonna do it if it shows up that even the labor market is not capable of generating inflation (maybe we got a hint of this fact today as there was no wage growth).

Wonder what Sisse thinks about today hopefully, he shows up

I really need to know that, is it a turning point for USA economy? , and how does it confirm, is it possible to go back to economy contraction?
the worlds biggest economy are in crisis or at the best situation they are neutral how come USA wanna raise rates , and is it good for economy? i really appritiate it if anybody could answer it.

very nice....I wish a fool had told me to stuff money into IRA's when I was as young as you, hell I would be sitting with sisse on my yacht off of Corsica trading for fun now. On the accounts you can control, the Roth I assume, learn some things about value investing, keep powder dry for those stock buying opps, and think about the long-term - you don't have to get rich overnight, you ate shit and worked for the money, so make sure you don't lose it overtrading. I know a limited amount....but my losses in equities is what turned me to FX....which then turned me to futures and now back in equities. Still don't know shit...and I've been tinkering since '07. A fun ride for sure, and more fun in the future. Thanks very much for the proverbial boot in the ass.

Funny how it's gone full circle. I'll never forget the time I owned 500 shares of UHAL when it was $1-3 a share (I was 16, dad bought them)...and I sold all for $5 a share. look at the price now...talk about value investing!

US equities bounced well off opening lows, will be interesting to see where they close today.....NFP miss extends the gossip about "uncertainty" and the nauseating, never-ending, central question of our times: will the mf Fed hike the mf ffr a mf measly 25 bps? I have seen those crazy people on the internet who keep saying the Fed will do QE4 before they raise again, maybe not so crazy....although I doubt it - NFP just one data point, Fed heads will be yakking soon, not likely to change their tune much...

classic, that went to $400+ this year.....daytrading is all good if you have the time & the skills, but the only rich traders I know are the old school, buy & hold stock traders....
