Carpe diem: Intraday tactics for Dax and Dow

Btw... I think today the Dax30 may move lower in line with movements on Nikkei, ASX and China50 (all down 3%). Trade with care.

Trade with the flow.. One thing to remember is that in China the government intervenes at around 2800 on the Index and in Taiwan at around 7800. Germany around 9300 unless government changes their plans for the QE purchasing of assets to stabilize local stock market index

Pretty heavy selling into the close on the ASX... Painful to watch all those bottom pickers.. And we all know what they say about bottom pickers...

JP225 Aug 24th low of @ 17, 160 was taken out today (remains to be seen if it can close below that level) is Dax next in line to test Aug 24th lows @9,300, and even break them?...

I think foreign ownership of Japanese stocks went from 20-something % to 34% with their QQE so It's no wonder it's being particularly hammered. Kuroda was practically giving money to foreigners (and putting their pension funds at great risk thanks to the new allocation)... bit silly if you ask me. Read an article the other day saying that indeed foreigners have dumped their Jap. stocks. woops

Not 100% sure on this, but I'm looking for some fairly solid looking support at around 9360, and it's not just because of the previous two lows. If we break this and push down, then the next line of support on my charts will be the Weekly 200ema at 9,090. Big day for stock markets today, and there'll be very many nervous people out there.

Two important support levels on the Dow are the 61.8% just below at 15,894, and the 76.4% at 15,648. Is today going to become ' Black Tuesday '?

Even if we avoid a significant downturn today, there are Chinese PMI numbers coming out on Thursday and they will be pretty dismal if we follow the trend of the past few months. This will add pressure on the stock markets, unless it's a surprise reading, but that seems very unlikely. With downward revisions for growth in EU and US, I don't see much incentive for stock markets to go significantly higher in the near term.

The American markets are mainly getting hammered in the healthcare sector. Hillary Clinton's attack on price gouging turned the spotlight on overvalued stocks there, so we get a bit of discrepancy between the DJIA modest downward move on the one side and the S&P and Nasdaq turning a lot lower.

The PA after XO should tell us. Either way, it was a nice 100+ fall

New low for the year - prior was 9379 cash - and ~at the 76 retrace on the daily chart of the rally off the October 2014 low at 8351

My Brother -in-law runs a big investment company here in the UK. I emailed him and told him to get the hell out of the stock market back in April when I saw the diversion on the daily chart followed by three bearish candles, the third of which was a shooting star, but he doesn't believe in Technical analysis and saw little need for concern. The last six weeks has seen him panicking all over the place.

The Dow has stopped dead on the 61.8%?
