Great post Clive, now I have learnt to post screenshots I will ONLY post your method after all you have proved it works day after day with screenshot after screenshot, sorry if I have caused any confusion, I now know what the extra tweek that your fellow trader gave you CONFIDANCE he spotted what a brilliant trading method it is by

To be honest Harold the whole idea was born on your thread, when I read it about flag trading the trend, which of course is just another name for ABCD, or retracement entries, or pullback entries or whatever any one wants to call it and as you said at the start of your thread the principle is as "old as the hills".

All I did was take your simple idea and trade it in strong trends where the flags become obvious and the winners bigger because of the strong trend...

Its as simple as that Harold, find a strong trend and trade the flags, abcds, pullbacks etc etc..

So thanks to you planting that seed I'm where I am today, very happy with my trading strategy...

Oh yeah, I want to apologize for disturbing the thread, Hurst is interesting to me for personal reasons, but I will restrain posting there anything about this method. And also I am not feeling sufficiently strong to start a thread about it by myself.

YES DAVE!!!!! Spot on!!!!!!!

He took my system and traded it with absolute confidence but more importantly with the absolute discipline of a seasoned old veteran trader that makes money every day because he follows a system to the letter no messing...

He's given me the confidence and the realisation of how important discipline is no matter how good your system is..

Hi Twobooks

No problem at all my friend and you are always welcome here , the only reason I'm saying no to any other strategy is because I'm perfectly happy where I am and no longer want any distractions..In the past I've shot off at all sorts of tangents but no more, from now on its ABCD, done and dusted..

So no hard feelings and I wish you well and many green pips....

Thank you Clive for your positive attitude, I like it a lot Reading your posts here as well as some other people is a very pleasant and enlightening experience so please again accept my apologies. I had great success with your system last week so I will continue to study it, it fits me, especially my time schedule as after London Open I have less time to take a trade.

I use to move to BE really quickly like 3 or 4 pips but nowadays I'll let it breathe a little bit more, but definitely move it at 10 pips and I expect my trades to go within a minute or two so after say 3 minutes I'm looking to get out asap for as little damage as possible so after a couple of minutes if it hasn't gone then I will go to BE at 1 pip just to get out of course sometimes it even goes after that which is a bonus.

EDIT: The biggest thing I like about trading 1 minute charts is my money is at risk for just a few minutes then I'm either out or at BE in a no lose situation. Trading is all about managing your risk and not leaving it laying about on the table for too long for some other greedy little trader to come and take it off me...

another way is get to be asap and trail behind the price...let it run but shadow it ..maybe behind each swing?

Charts with possible good/bad trades speaks for themselfs. I say it coz this method is still quite subject to me. Mainly the entering. I get a lot of whipsaw coz entering earlier.(smaller retracements before the bigger ones).

And btw. do you still use 10 pips stoploss? Coz on this screen this stoploss had to be bigger than that.

People stop postin "improvements" please. If you wanna do then start your own thread as Clive gave you permission to use his knowledge. But don't ruin this thread.I'm sure if Clive would like to add anythin spicey he would do it! I gotta say from start of this thread I can see how much passionate was Clive about it. And I hope it's stays the way it's. Clive, I understand the time consumption. But you can always post few setups at the weekend. No biggie. I at least hope so.

I would like to congrats you to stay in the right path and I can see you start to realize you made it. I'm really happy about you. I'm in a really bad life situation and don't know if I can win this fight. I certainly know there's chance this could be the one of the last things I'll ever write. But right now I can see a little spark of hope thanks to you. I don't know if this spark start a fire or die out. But that's too much emotional sh*t in this great thread. So sorry for posting this. Clive I hope this is on track, you say how you look for separation of your 35 & 175 lwma I have broken a screenshot down for the guys that are not quite getting at what you are looking for, I have just added a (Cloud/Ribbon) just to highlight the visual effect & power of the separation ( no idea how to send the cloud/ribbon indicator) once this is spotted you then turn your attention to the CCI
I accept its very simple but it leads guys into your method step by step

Hi Nukern

OK I think I understand what you are saying?? But just to check my understanding, are you saying that there are plenty of CCI signals that don't work and how can we differentiate the good from the bad?? If that is your question then I have two answers for you, the first one is very easy...

Only trade charts from the 5 minute top trender, top 4 maybe even just the top 2 to start with because you will find that most of the CCI turns back with the strong 5 minute trends work out fine on the top two trenders. Avoid entries like the one you refer to as that was me being an opportunist very early in the new uptrend. Of course it is the setup that I refer to a lot , but it also can fail as the 5 minute trend is not truely set at this early stage in the new uptrend. This worked out fine for me giving me 35 pips but it is a risky entry than the top trenders. And just to prove that piont just after I banked it plummeted 70 pips in about 3 mins, see chart below.

But of course they don't all workout so the 2nd part that I would add to differentiate the bad CCI signals from the good is to have a 10 pip stop in place so that your losers are smaller than your winners, thats good money management. We can't fix the size of our winners as thats down to the market to give us what its gonna give us, however we can always fix our losers at 10 pips. You suggest my trade doesn't work on 10 pips but in fact after my entry it just went straight up never looking back at my entry so 10 pips was fine, however, having said that I do agree that GBPNZD is a bit feisty so I usually drop a 20 pip emergency stop in place but its rarely hit because if it does go against me I exit soon as I can usually around the 10 pip mark...

Lastly when taking CCI signals I do try to identify a key level for them to come off of like a 25 level or the 175 or 35 lwma or previous support/resistance. I will mark these levels out as price moves around them so I can easily see the ones I want..

However all that said the easiest thing to do is have the TTindy set to only open the top four trenders that way you will only be looking at awesome charts trending your way. Then you will find the vast majority of your trades will work and the odd losers only giving 10 pips away...

Hope that helps my friend and somehow alleviates you from the situation you currently find yourself in...

To upload a file (your ribbon indicator), click "post s reply" - like you do to post a comment - then go to the very bottom of the window - below the "post new reply" button you see "Upload from computer", click it and find the file you want to upload (your indicator) and that's it.

The ribbon may be helpful as it gives a good visual picture of the market.
