I bet its too early to evaluate what has just happened - guess the markets need to digest it tomorrow - but the futures reaction (SP500) looks pretty strange!! wonder if all the talks about the fed creditibility and confidence in US recovery being gone in case of dovish FED are true!

Q3 earnings season coming up, stocks will rally into the holiday season, it would be a surprise to see angst for a rate hike come back until 2016, JY says she wants inflation and there ain't none in Santa's sack. Maybe if we get a lasting turn up in oil prices, but it isn't the right time of year, would need the OPEC touch - I hear it's in the rumor mill

I don't know. the US stock market is having trouble getting it up. The 2% pop which immediately sold off is a sign that we may be entering into a bear market.

OR just closing out the month/quarter, jump on triple witching. Where you gonna put your risk money if not in stawks? Same old shit - T.I.N.A. - there is no alternative. Key alternative is mattress/cash/bonds... real estate is another fine place if you are in florida... anyway, never know for sure until it happens, but several of the market reversal signs have shown up: high volatility combined with high volume, stubborn refusal to go any higher, and no quick bounce back from correction territory. Background fundamentals are also there. Major commodity crash driven by a major fall in demand as half the world economies are in the crapper. In fact the only bright light out there is the (somewhat dim) light of the US economy which the Fed just gave a vote of non confidence to.

It never fails to amaze me how you make these predictions and then are right far more often that not.

I struggle with the simple question of UP v Down.

I do have a question for you though. Based upon your recent posts you are Bullish on the Euro and Bearish on the Dollar. However your conviction at the bottom of your posts shows the opposite.

Thanks ... well i think Fool is aiming for a volatility breakout despite the direction. Point was still plenty of time for the FED play to pan out...Asia and Europe has to wake up first and show us how do they digest the news...
