It looks like we've got pretty good support today just below the daily central pivot at around 10,000, and for now resistance above on the 30m 200ema which is just below R1. I think we either knock around between these two levels, or we break resistance to move up towards 10,200. Should be a good day.

GM - a LH after price failed to break above yesterday's high and price has now dropped ~ 100 pts getting towards the BRN at 10,000.

The 50% retrace of the rally off yesterday's low is at 10,001 and below that we have today's DP and yesterday's VPOC close bye, so IMO little reason to expect this morning's gap to be closed......TWT

Here's my version of Islander's chart. 100 pip short easy as you like. It went like this - resistance was already defined as I posted earlier ( if you can define S&R beforehand, it makes life a great deal easier) The chart is the 30 sec time frame. It found resistance on the 30m 200ema as anticipated, and then dropped. The trick is to wait for 200ema support, because it usually finds it and pulls back to a fib level, usually the 61.8% or the 76.4% before dropping again. Then it's a question of waiting for the right candlestick, which here was an inverted hammer. They don't get much simpler than this one. Profit taken on the 61.8% on the down side. My moving averages kept me in the trade until then.

Dax. Grabbed + 105 this morning in the preopening. Now long again from 9988 tp 10100.

@cat - I expected you too to be onboard that south-bound express

Here's a pic of that twister I mentioned yesterday.....the main bay is behind the photographer and the other shot was earlier in the season.....many more boats there in July & August....

I guess we're waiting for buying dips. The US number expectations are betting on improving conditions in the US, if that's confirmed we could have a big pushup for markets. It'll be a busy few hours from 14:15 until 16:30. I'm looking at entry around 10000, but for now support seems to hover around 10025.

Could the "subdued" response of today also be a "wait and see" approach for tomorrow's ECB meeting? After the Chinese turmoil investors seem to be expecting extra QE. If Draghi doesn't deliver, would the markets slide into new lows, or just take it in their stride? I don't doubt Draghi will reiterate his "at least until Sept 2016" statement like he did in the past few months. At least there's that vague statement.

edit: At the end it seems that the wolf came, we should expect very little to start seeing how it affects the issue of China to global macroeconomic data and to assess whether we are able to keep the pulse of recovery, mainly in the locomotive( usa)
