This reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask. The fact that the trading week is spread over parts of 6 different days makes it kinda weird if I want to keep track of my profit (in $$ or pips) per day. It never made sense to me to say I made so much on Sunday, so much on Monday, etc, since the first and last day of the week are short. So I count a "day" as 4pm one day to 4pm the next day (my time)...starting with Sunday open and ending with Friday close.

Just wondering if this is how most people do it.

Well my broker(fxcm)does it automatically from 6 pm to 6 pm.So my days are kind of even.And i get used to count it like that as well.Also it sets my trading hours.Late asia going to London and a bit of NY

I am a bit in lazy typing mode so here goes;

  1. Daily pivots are calculated from previous day's high, low, close which ends at 5pm est or 21pm GMT.
  2. 4 Hours pivots are calculated from previous 4 hours bar which ends at 2100, 0100, 0500, 0900, 1300, 1700 GMT.
