When i trained apprentices i found it best to show the long way how things are done, then when competent take the short route, it made better well prepared skilled persons.

seems the people " looking" to sound they are being skilled like those with lots of screentime is to write in short cut imho picking up a bad habit

Hi All,

after a couple a weeks read this thread, this is my first post.
please help me with this OP

at the mark line it should be the right candle (08:00 )for the open position based on TMS, but, until 08.00+15 minutes i can't see the good angle of bounce trade so i pass it, and when i see again at 12:00, its late.
it there any suggestion how many minutes we stay check the chart until we take decision to enter or pass (sorry for my english not good)

Gold trade went bad. Probably because of the OB zone, and there was also a trendline which stood in the way of price going higher.

It's probably better that the signal appears late, because the overall trend seems to be up, and you want to go short in uptrend. That is just a retracement, so if you wish to go short, you should manage that entry on a lower TF. I suppose the pro traders from this thread are more qualified to answer, but I gave it a shot.
Besides, who says it's too late? The price can move hundreds of pips after you enter. Big E said that when trading TDI bounces, we can enter after the 2nd candle without any issues.

My tuppence worth..
Firstly i see a nice rejection (better than previous touch) off the resistance 1.13550 - 1.13600 level, price action showing bearish engulfing pattern, together with the hourly downtrend and steep TDI cross below the 50 level makes for a more attractive signal..

That's a good question. One of the main reasons is because price action and movement on a lower time frame will react (get stuck or break through) on support and resistance levels on a higher time frame. Check out this link Why scalpers and day traders have to check higher timeframes.

Second entry better because:

- entry is on the second, not the third red apb candle
- the second red apb is a break of the IB (1st red apb)
- TDI green below red and crossing MBL with nice angle showing momentum

(also close of the LO H1 candle below the PAC gives some HTF confirmation after the entry)

in case that picture on Hourly chart,
its because when i take trade on box 1, that is 4th candle since TDI cross?
or previous candle is bigger than 3 prev candle?

Hi,

To determine trend I try to look at higher timeframes.

We can clearly see the trend is up.

How do i look for an entry?

On the 30Min chart - I saw strong PA and went long at the close. Not sure if this is good but we'll see how it goes.

On a sidenote: I'm seeing some divergence and possibly the formation of a blowoff bar rejecting 1.3350. However, as long as the signal is not clear i'm looking for long but perhaps taking smaller TP.

On GBPUSD we saw strong movement yesterday. Obviously in hindsight this is easy but would this be a valid way to trade these smaller consolidations in the move? Or is my S/L placement too tight?

Well, worth waiting 15mins for the news to be out.
then still with good price momentum, the entry was good.

H4 still good to sell with strong USD.
