DislikedHey all, Can someone help with the formula for calculating margin requirement for CAD/CHF?
My account is dollars, any pair I trade with CHF requires 5% margin.
I know how to calculate USD/??? and ???/USD and most crosses, I just don't know when CAD is the base pair.
ThanksIgnored
Sure since no one replied to your post here goes;
1 standard lot = 100,000 units
USDCAD @1.31348 - Value/pip/lot = USD7.61
USDCHF @0.98167 - Value/pip/lot = USD10.19
CADCHF @0.74738 - Value/pip/lot = USD10.19
The value of 1 lot CADCHF = (CADCHF*Lot*100,000)/USDCHF = USD76,134
So require margin is 5% - your account leverage is 500:1
To open 1 lot of CADCHF margin requirement USD157.22
Note: margin requirement is subject to exchange rate.
(100,000 units CAD = 74,738 units CHF or = 0.76134 lot USDCAD or = 0.76134 lot USDCHF)
