hi guys and gals....the chat about correlations etc got me thinking about the correlation meter..etc it may be usefull to some ... have included mql4 if any coders may wish to check or adjust etc......it can be multi loaded as per chart example ...or maybe built in to db etc ...anyway hope it may help someone....cheers..

This are my contribution thoughts to the EA.

the EA is very advanced but the trade management is still poor. To manage with simple SL TP is not advanced. So this is not your call for now just work on the dash and the triggers. I tell you how i did it with maddash a week ago.

1) Entry is by dash and trade management goes by trade manager. 1 chart with dash, 1 chart with manager EA. rule was SL 2x atr of TF m15 (you may choose higher) and TP 3x atr, BE when 20 pip (I would prefer 2x atr but no option) BE goes with take half profit. manager attached and template. (with this option dash EA only open trade, management is paused)

2) the frequently entries can be minimized if you call them with candle close m5, this will protect also to enter at a fals news m1 spike.
3) advanced trailing and no TP. I back tested many times. to trail along the line of xsupertrend indicator give the most profits (more profits then any TP over a long run), position will be closed if price cross the line (possible use higher TF)

4) I saw entry was done by pair it should be confirmed by max and minimum currency strength. don't trade all eur if euro is strong trade it only against the weakest currency so if jpy is weak go only entry ej and not eg eu en etc... (possible to choose the 2 highest and 2 weakest if numbers are min max <2 >8 or <3 >7)

5) this ea cspa-1_43 has paused trading around news. check out the code. it needs one indicator NewsCal-v107 (rename it from zip)

6) no entry before SR. 1x atr range. do not go long if R is 1 atr ahead. this indi paints very nicely SR from h1 h4 D W FractalSupportResistance

7) please make option to alert signals only and not trade. names of pairs could be buttons to open quick a chart (like maddash). I miss it here, we still like to see charts.

I just wrote this before my morning coffee, I may have missed something. please asked if something is not clear. Hope it helps and give you good ideas.

I found this correlation indicator on internet, maybe it could be developed for dash? The more I think about it the more I think you and Jibala are right. Wish I could share the one that I bought but obviously I can't. The one davrock posted looks even cooler.

I was considering using another Trade Manager myself.

Question: When using a Trade Manager EA configured this way, i.e. as a separate EA, can the Strategy Tester be used to optimize EA parameters of the Dashboard EA?
How is the Trade Manager EA linked/combined with the Dashboard EA to optimize Dashboard EA parameters in the Strategy Tester? Or is this a limitation of using a separate Trader Manager EA?

Forget about a correlation table. the dash is much better.
You show correlated PAIRS. DASH show correlated CURRENCIES!

CURRENCIES correlated will be on the same side in currency strength.

Bernhard that what we have been doing for a while. I think what dagoods and Jibala are saying is that is not enough information and not as reliable.

with the setup i posted you have 2 charts. dash will open the orders but not manage it. on the 2nd chart you have the manager and it will automatically keep care of all orders with SL TP trail BE, half profit

(dash still need to be modified to NOT manage trades only open it, this is not available in this version I think. still you can open manual trades on dash signals)
edit: hm maybe we can if SL PT set to 0. I will try monday

i am not the expert man... just saying what i believe to be the truth.
i've yet to find a user friendly correlation indicator. the only way that makes sense to my brain to think of correlation is in terms of deviation, kinda like this:

1. is it correlated?.
2. if yes, has price moved by at least x in terms of deviation from the correlation..1 standard deviation, 1.5 standard deviations, 2 std? to see this you can use an overlay indicator and just get a feel for how much the lines need to separate before the y come back together or vice versa.... it's very visual that way... just overlay two highly correlated pairs +80% or higher is necessary, + 90% or higher is preferred,.....then try 2 negatively correlated pairs..... -80 at least , -90 proffered

3. if yes, i know there is 90% chance price will return to its correlation... let me repeat that ..... 90% chance..... yes that's right... in theory, if done right, you can trade with a 90% chance of hitting your target....
4.o.k lets say yes we find it is correlated and lets say 1 standard deviation from the normal correlation status... do i have reason enough to trade it?...i.e. is there strength beginning to move me back toward the normal correlation status?? etc. overlya indicator + CSM is very clunky.... the whole point of an ea is to make life easier isn't it? anyway....


having correlation indicator to tell us the info in a dash like that, now that is the ideal.... but is it practical? not sure....so what is the practical? as a practical matter the guys in the 00 thread have shown that so long as candle colors are matching, i.e. working together in your favor you can use that too.... in other words if eu and ej have same candle colors on h1 through monthly lets say..... then yeah the euro is the higher timeframe driver......... does knowing that help you trade strength? does it help you basket? are you going to want Euro pairs that have red candle color or green candle color on the lower timeframes? answer. red... you cant to get in when the mve is already over and then expect good results...but if you KNOW price is 1 standard deviation or more away from the normal.... and you KNOW what is normal.... it may not always work but do you see the idea? the idea is to identify the cycles and get in at good prices, whatever method you are using to try to do it...

my understanding is that using candle colors is more reliable if the dollar and the yen is involved... reason is that they yen and dollar make up 90% of the worlds currency or something like that.... not sure exactly but read something somewhere and my testing shows its true.....

again i'd like to emphasize that i'm not an expert at correlation... i just think its one of the only strategies in all of forex that can be 90% or better....that is a mathematical certainty. not just some idiot on a forum claiming his strategy is good. lol only a complete moron would ignore that and get distracted by other strategies imo... strength + correlation is key..... with the overly indicator you have everything you need to test it manually if you want to and develop what works....

here is a bug. if i click first on cadjpy it correct open that chart.
then i click the other row eurusd but it open some other chart audusd or some else
eurusd left side doesn't work too
