Just kept seeing referrals to the 50sma as being a very good trend indicator. Plus, on investigation, it was uncanny how many times price would come to the 50sma and stop and reverse. The general consensus seems to be that if you have the 50sma on your chart, you'll always be certain of the trend. Apparently, the BIG dealers in this game use the 50sma as a decision maker, so I thought "that's good enough for me", and I've used it ever since. And it hasn't disappointed me.

I hear, they also use ema20 and ema/sma200 along with sma50

Dont want to be rude, but no EMA was used by fund managers, as far as I know. It is SMA, but numbers is right

I often use the same approach but with lwma8.
the d1 context i refer to, at times, comes from there.
the potential touch point of price to lwma8 on d1 is marked as a horizontal line on lower tf's.
then, on m5 or m15, look for entries in the direction of the lwma8 slope on d1 when price gets near that horizontal line.

Hmm, not really what is Bigalow doing. He is using Tline as confirmation for reversal. U have reversal candle u wait for close above tline on daily TF, and after u move to M15 and search for entry. It can be used as Trailing stop.

What are u referring is Jhook. It is kind of like fry pan, but price is supported by 8MA.

The main idea is to trail with 8MA

LONG

Bullish engulfing followed by piercing line right across mR1.
Entry as shown.
Exit 1 at RN __25 near mR2
Exit 2 would have been at R2 but good momentum took it beyond for some extra pips.
