Yes, I use the TDI without any levels .
I just made the volatility bands and the MBL visible and thatīs it .
I only trade London session , usually Iīm out when US opens.
And only h4 and D1 with TMS for me ..

2015 Week 29 - Trade Summary:

5 trades in total:
- 1 Win
- 2 BE
- 2 Losses

I was tied up all of last week with an event at work which meant I was unable to trade at all. Back into it this week though, and a fairly good week for trading this pair as well. LO only set the high or low for the session on 2 out of 5 days and despite some choppiness there were some good opportunities to trade during London/NY. A steep channel formed right from Mondays LO and lasted a surprisingly long time for such a steep trend. It was eventually broken by Wednesdays LO. Aside from that it was business as usual. Overall, 1 good win on Thursday and a couple of small US session losses meant I finished the week on +1%.

Monday: FO formed a huge bullish WRB which threw me a little, but once LO closed red confirming a continuation in the down-trend, I jumped in the classic TDI cross entry at LO+1. My entry was on a break of the LO candle and price immediately dropped 25ish pips in my favour. I moved SL to BE but unfortunately a sharp pullback to my entry stopped me out of the trade. Price then went on to reach my original 50 pip TP but the 100 pip portion would have been closed at BE during another large retracement in the US session.

Tuesday: Got to my charts around LO and would have been ready to jump in a short had this broken FO's low. However, LO made a large pullback and ended up closing as a red IB. Had LO closed blue, I might have considered the classic TDI cross long at LO +1 (just about good for +50). Price didn't go anywhere for a few hours and LO+3 closed red in line with the primary downtrend. However, there was some US news on the way so I waited to see how that played out. The news dropped price, which eventually bounced off the 200EMA causing a rejection. This pullback put me off the trade but eventually it followed my bias anyway.

Wednesday: I got to my charts at FO to see a really tight range had formed over the past few candles. FO continued this pattern and it wasn't until LO that price broke made a strong bullish move up. I would have entered long at LO+1 but wasn't paying attention and missed the start of the move. Didn't fancy the late entry as price was nearing the 200EMA. The move was short-lived anyway and with the huge stack of US news scheduled I waited for the US session. I attempted an entry short following a similar news candle to Tuesday. I was stopped out almost immediately. I guess the fundamental difference in this case was the second news stack on the way which sent price soaring upwards and causing the move of the day. (-25,-1%)

Thursday: I witnessed FO drop to the 200EMA as it often does. Many times on this pair, when price approaches the 200EMA during London, it'll touch or cross over slightly before pulling back by 20-30 pips and then continuing in its original direction. What the summary chart doesn't show in this case, was that this retracement had already occurred and price was on its way back down. From that point on, it was plain sailing with price trending down nicely throughout the whole day (+150, +3%)

Friday: Went long at LO on the classic TDI bounce following a DBLHC formation around FO. There was very little momentum in the market and the trade was eventually stopped at BE. Decided to wait for the re-entry following the US session news releases. I witnessed the news candle retest the LO price as it did on Wednesday. Entered on the following candle but yet again price didn't really go anywhere. Perhaps entering at this time on a Friday was unwise but I'm still getting to grips with trading the US session anyway. (-25,-1%)

Anyways I'm off to a beer festival now... good excuse to get away from the charts for a bit

Its not a real stop , its an emergenzy stop !
I close my TMS orders ALL ( really all ) by hand when the TDI shows me this .
In H4 my trades makes about 40 to 120 pips when I close them , both sides win or lose .
Normally I don t use a SL , only when I keep them very rare overnight.
In about 200 to 300 trades, it took one time my emergency stop .
the calculation is easy;
You put a emergency SL below the last few candles low / high.
Take it easy , it makes profits .. not only in the short term .
About 2 of 3 works , one is a loser , no big deal .

Hello, I have been reading a lot thread pages, the system looks very interesting and i can see a lot are having good results. Has anybody coded an EA to see if it profitable at long term? I would like to write one, but it would be good to know if it already exist. Thank you

There is a lot of TMS ea's floating around on the the net & on FF. - But it can not compete with our eyes and experience.
Learn it the hard way, its the only way to do it!

There were some normal days and some weird days this week on EA. Hopefully with Greece sorted things will get back to normal.

Hi,

Here is what I saw as I had open positions.

Your H1 entry was good and as there was consolidation seen on H4 with that Master candle[3]. That H4 breakout candle was nice with its last H1 (4xH1=H4) being the setup candle aka "Arjun candle".

We need to give the trade time to breathe. Trust the higher TF and the intraday support and resistance.

We shall see what happen next week. Follow the flow and what the price action shows us.

Multiple Entries / Multiple Exits ME/ME trades closed week 29 17 July.

A good week and closing some profitable baskets of trades and also taking a few small losses.
This account started at US$50K on 23 June and grew nicely and now a healthy balance. I will continue to use 0.2% per trade position lot size will increase. Will need to manage this properly so that I don't blow this one in the coming weeks.

Hi fronline,

First, this is not a trading system. It is a simple trading method known as 5-Method. This is a trend trading method. It does not work in narrow range sideways market.
It is a rule based discretionary trading method and therefore relies on the traders' knowledge and experience. Over the past years, I have tested EA found here in FF and none produce profitable results over long term. From my testings, the better result comes from trading higher timeframe H4 and D1 TDI crosses for entry and exits. But still the longer term results is not very profitable beacsue there was no proven money management strategy in those EAs. So don't waste your time looking for one.
When you want to build an EA, I suggest you build one which is semi-automated that will manage your trades using a proven money management strategy. You as the trader need to decide when to open trades and when not to. This is the vital part which requires your knowledge and experience. Your EA should not be a trading robot which make trade entries and exits on its own. Your EA should only be a trade manager with defined parameters to do the tedious work for you like calculation of position size based on stop loss distance, building positions during retracement, calculating the average entry price of all open positions, moving protective stops to protect open positions, adding position when market run in your favour, etc. It can be very complex when it comes to coding in mql4 but can be done to great extend.

The results only shows that trading TMS can be profitable when we have a proven money management strategy to add to the 5-Method and to make it into your own winning system. TMS 5-Method is only the techncial trading method and is less than 10% of a trading system. The other big parts are Money Management (30%) and our Minds ( or what I call our Mental Fitness as traders makes up (60%).

Big question is " How to Develop a Winning Trading System that fits you?" Google does a good job always.

The latest version Synergy_Pro_TDI does the same by factoring in the price volatility so i don't think we need these Gann/macd/OSMA indicators. But since they work for you, good that you can trade consistently with them. Thanks anyway.

Every trading system has losses / drawdown. It is the trader who know how to recover from the drawdowns that matters in the long term.
It is a money management game we play with over the technical trading method.

Hi Emmanuel,

I think one of the defining moments when you go from being a fresh newbie, to a newbie 2.0 is when you realize the incredible importance of money management. Understanding the power that a MM strategy has on our equity curve is a big "aha" moment. Two traders taking the same exact trades, entry & exit, can have wildly different $$ performance, in fact one trader could be profitable and the other could be heavily in the red. This is a powerful realization.

The one advice i can offer to other newbies regarding MM is to keep a very detailed trade log. Regardless of demo or live, if we have a detailed trade log we can always go back and apply another MM strategy to actual trades we took. While there are formulas and other ways to go about it, an old fashion excel sheet with simple formulas is a satisfying way of seeing MM effect on each trade, and our overall bottom line.
