Usd/Cad has been rejected from 1.28 level after disappointed US retail sales data. On the downside, break below 1.2716 (today's low) could lead to further downside.

BOC rate decision and that's why its not moving 1.25 where it should be.

Second bounce off channel top today, looks like it is waiting for the news tomorrow with a bearish bias.

I am watching a sustained H4 break above 1.2752 as a bullish conviction, there isn't any so far.

Although, USDCAD seems to find it extremely difficult to sustain its strength above 1.2800 mark, but now seems to find support near 1.2700 mark. Until the pair continues holding above 1.2700 mark, it could possibly make a fresh attempt to conquer 1.2800 mark hurdle, which if cleared opens room for continuing the near-term upward trajectory towards its next major resistance near 1.3000 psychological mark.

what happens if there is no rate cut today?

i still have my short from 1.2800 yesterday, in anticipation of a drop if no rate cut.

Behaving exactly as was anticipated. Need to see if it sustains above 128.00 mark to continue adding long positions for near-term upside momentum till 1.3000 mark.

if the rate will be unchanged wouldnt this "weaken" the CAD?? The USD is so strong only a rate rise could strengthen the CAD. Or am i wrong?
