Last week was one of the best week for me in trading. Due to Greece news impact on euro I have restricted my trading on Friday, and had suffered a small loss on Thursday but previous 3 days have been fantastic and hence overall a huge week for me.

Hopefully coming weeks will be positive too.

I do and did aggressive scalping.

It is not worth finding reason why price moved the way it did, most of time price just moves without events due to market participants. Price bumped up becouse of few reasons, nothing special in fundies, just tech stuff.

ATHENS, June 27 (Reuters) - A majority of Greeks favor accepting a bailout deal with international lenders, according to an opinion poll conducted before Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras announced a surprise referendum on the issue.

The survey by the Alco polling institute published in Sunday's edition of the Proto Thema newspaper, said 57 percent of people were in favour of reaching a deal, while 29 percent wanted a break with creditors.

The poll among 1,000 people was conducted between June 24-26.

Hi guys, i am just worried how my eur/cad position will get affected by this Greece default news on Sunday market open. I hope it doesn't open 1000pip down. does anyone think it will gap 1000pips? hope not.

If you trade a lot its worth getting rebate / commission reduction also. For scalping especially. I am as low as possible on ICM, 4 per position and it makes large difference from standard 7 USD.

No you are getting it wrong. The after move doesnt count, what counts is initial move from reaction. You cant say that after currency drops 200 pips and then it goes up 200 that result was up move, initial move was down from event. Same way for Greece, if it drops 300 or 500 pips and later goes up (due to lets say getting rid of bad hand) it doesnt change the fact that event caused EUR to drop, not appreciate initially. Besides that just becouse there is data event it doesnt mean that it will/should last with its impact on currency for weeks or months. It can be and very often is hedged by other event which then flips the market. That as long as event isnt very significant like rates or something.

i am null at fundamentals but let's think this way:
greece is out of the EU --> Any country might decide to leave EU --> EU is a union, if the union becomes smaller and smaller it will become weaker. the larger the union is the stronger --> more uncertainty in the future of EU --> EURO will fall

greece remains in EU --> more bailout plans --> more suffering of EU economy --> EURO will fall

so in my opinion whatever happens EURO will fall... that is my opinion logically because i suck at fundamentals

now technically, we should not go anywhere before touching 1.1103 then 1.1019 should be easy and the first real support after 1.1103 is 1.089
in the event where EURUSD breaks 1.1228 before touching 1.1103 it means the bulls are very strong and will drive the price above the current month's high

Greexit should be considered as fear event. Currencies drop on fear events, only Gold goes up. If there would be vote tomorrow for Greece, Spain and Portugal to leave EU and you put gun to my head, by no means i would put long on EUR. No way. Market wouldnt react positive.
