Yesterday FOMC news was slightly dovish. That means dollar weakness. Also, grexit isn't that exciting anymore. Likely to be largely priced in. Also "last minute deals" are possible and very common so the market just goes its normal ways and chooses the path of least resistance..

Money Makers are going to make more money If they push the price upwards, before the grexit happens.

Imagine the possiblities

Market priced in a rate hike that is not going to happen. Speculation also push the euro excessively down, and it's correcting itself. Bull run on the dollar was doped, investor buyed dollars, imho, because there wasn't any better currency, not just for a fundamental value. It was a short time bubble.

About Grexit: not going to happen. Would be a terrible mistake.
It will cost more in national bond. Italian, spanish and portuguese bonds will take off, putting those country in a very difficult situation. Greek dept in its absolute value is nothing compared to spanish and italian one.
The talks by the german were tactics: greeks strategy was something like "they won't let us fail, we are in the strong position", and europe just showed muscles.
This problem is more political than economical. Remember it.
More over a Grexit would push Greece in to the arms of Putin, but Greece is in NATO.
Ubi maior minor cessat
