Dee, sry if you already know this, am not trying to play smartass, but me myself have started to trade Dax recently (@January).. Before was watching it for few years just for currencies correlations...You can see my Bubble bobble account for reference , but that was just overleveraged scalping system so... But what I wanna say is that CFD makes quite huge daily gaps. Can cost quite some if your stops are close to CFD daily close. You cant unload during Asia and can get screwed once Frankfurt opens. Beware

edit: Also, speaking of Dax... should 10970 get broken, running for 11137 test and EU may get close to my 1,12355 stops. Hope they are gonna hold.

HAH!! I had noticed, but what a wonderful instrument to trade, love at first sight, I do not know why I have stayed away from it for so long, I actually find the DAX easier to trade than the e-mini SP500 and I traded that for a few years before moving to FX.

Actually I need to thank all of the traders here on this thread, if it was not for you I would never have looked at the DAX,

Oh yes! 10'970 seems a good price! I'm short now with 10'920 (with 2/10) maybe at 11'000 (with 1/10 again, if so) and then au revoir! by taking the A-train downside (by reducing my normal investments 10/10 to total 3/10).
I like also France40 & Australia200 and HongKong33 & Japan225. SPX500 & RUSS2000 seems also reliable indicators for me.

Any or all advice is most welcome. There is so little information to be found about the characteristics of the DAX that any information is gratefully received. If an instrument is going to pull my pants down and molest me, without lubrication, i at least want to know more than just it's name.

I'm expecting this to go back up to 11,00 this afternoon, the last hour has dramatically changed the picture and I have good support building below where we are.

slow-down!...decelerate!, ...reducing the risc (quantity of Lots) and then you can get calm by ascending volatility (say 200-800 pips).

It depends who supplies your charts. I use IT Finance, which are the charts used by the majority of major banks and trading institutions.

JFD Brokers have continuous DAX CFD with premarket data. During Asia spread is 8 ticks.. at open it falls to 1 tick through out the day... helps to see how the gaps are formed.

Thanks, that is nice to know, because at such broker, you may be able to close orders during Asia. I wouldnt be counting on data value though, as imo it has just a few in common with Dax. When Frankfurt closed, CFD traded is air and mirroring the rest of indexes...SaP and Nikkei. As they are strongly correlated, one may suppose this CFD price will reflect Frankfurt open. It doesnt have to though.

To take a quick look at the bigger picture because contact with the Daily 200sma may prompt people to anticipate an end to the current bear run. I don't see it like that, and although I am very much an intra day trader, I see a fall over the coming weeks down to at least 10,000. The weekly price has moved a long way above the major MAs ( 100sma, 200ema, 200 sma,) and there is clear water between where we are now, and those, and the price, whichever TF you look at, always likes to return to its big moving averages.
