In an extremely unusual fashion Christine Lagaarde the IMF head suggested that the US Federal Reserve not raise rates this year because of the overvalued dollar and a revised GDP lower for 2015 and 2016 projected in the US.

My speculation is now to short USD/JPY as Chairwoman Yellen may want to heed that counsel and then later cash in that huge chip for giving a rip about what Christine had to say even though she didn't have too. Suddenly we may see data interpreted as lackluster and the Fed may emphasize the imperfect data more....hmmm.

Short USD/JPY at 124.45 and I will double the position on the NFP spike upward if there is one.

Trends tend to go extreme before turning.Is 2450 extreme? Based on price action thus far it looks like another bull accumulation is forming.

I listened to the interview and do agree that Yellen speaks before facts and pushes the market to go USD bull without substance.All we have is Feds are planning a .25hike! That's enough to kill thousands of steel,oil,export industry jobs because of overvalued USD

Only I expecting a good NFP and 125?!

USDJPY i believe will go up.

JPY has lost a lot of ground to most currencies. Still showing weakness in my opinion. We might venture into price levels not seen for a long time. Who knows how the market will react if that happens...

What a spike at this hour...!

what's the deal with all the gaps?

As a point of reference, I post two other charts involving the JPY.

The first is of CHFJPY. During two weeks, we se alot of arrows indicating bullish divergence. It takes a little time before the big move occurs. These arrows are not entry signals, they just mark that there is a divergence in the direction of the arrow for the last 24 hours.



Now this is what is happening with CADJPY:



As always I might be wrong. Still CAD and the USD might be underperforming lately and be the last currencies to move against the JPY.

NFP good wave 5 if bad data is known what to do next swing down

Imho it's getting ready for another mother of a burst upward... The 200H SMA is nicely creeping up to the price and decreasing the overbought levels which held it from rising in the past period. Although boj and the gang blithely declared they're "satisfied" with current levels, it's pretty much obvious they're not going to let UJ slip below 123.6 or so, not even temporarily.. So when you have a pair which cannot go down, you get a pair which can only go up. On a bad NFP it'll bounce off current support, on good NFP it'll blast off. Historically, UJ has seen much faster rises on weekly and monthly charts so all of this is hardly unprecedented.

Seems that we can get a double top in area 125...
