You are trying to theorize, i can see where you come from, becouse i asked myself similar questions, but after seeing actual investors that teach and make money and their students make it and that their reasons for doing so are much more diverse than you put it there youll see why. Some make shitloads teaching, and by shitloads i am not even talking about numbers bellow 1 milion per year, so your 50k account becomes quite more of a hardwork and less actractive, and youll see them doing exactly for that. Not all but quite few that i found out do it due to that, others have other reasons (as per my observation). Now pop up google if you want to find answers

Well, I did not put a SL on my short and I am trying to manage some open exposure. Looking at recent technical activity, it seems likely we will come back down between 1.102 and 1.106. The past few weeks, price has come back to levels it has broken. I expect this before going up or down further. Any thoughts, good people?

EUR/USD had a good jump today 200 pips once 1.0900 was broken and now price is rebounding from resistance 1.1180 in the end of the day.
