I had someone ask me how much reccomended to trade forex and I responded if you want to bet you can do it with $100-1000 account, but if you want to trade then at least a $3000 account with small lots. Both ways can make you money but there is more of a chance you will lose your $ Beting vs trading. The big banks trade with $70 million + they don't set stop loses because when the market goes a different direction they may lose a few hundred thousand but the market will turn around and they are still in. Make sense? So be careful know your risk and I would recommend waiting until you have about $5000 or even 10,000 before you trade

its important to put some safe things in place like hedging and use small lots vs all in so to speak

For me. Market doesnt open until tuesday. I dont trade shitty liquidity mondays.
Im hungover and so are other bankers... Why do you think mondays are the lowest volume trading day of the week, almost every week??

{quote} Btw, I hope you bought that GBP . I have made about 3% on Geppy. On the other hand lost it all on that fackup entry @ end of Friday. Yes, all USD charts still have some steam left and +- breaking weekly levels and wanna correct more up. Especially GU. However, I think move is very limited in UJ and EU. Both of these pairs imo dont have much more room for correction and will be my start of the week. Later on I add Aussie. - Also I have a pretty good monthly hold 0,7248 on EG - combined with GBP strenght and EU down - think is a nice combo...

Last Monday, I made very BIG. So, not necessarily all Monday's are thin volume days. These days all days are volatile. It moved away from 1.0466 to 1.0612. ( 146 pips ) When market is volatile, there is opportunity. Unfortunately the theory is not applicable every day.

If the trend is what the big banks do and every big bank I read about is selling EU, targeting 1.00 - 1.02 by June (with the exception of HSBC, targeting 1.20 in a year), then isn't the trade to follow sell EU? Isn't it the big money that sets the trend, and big money trades based on fundamentals? Then would this "pause" in the dollar bull run be just a pause?
Please correct me if you have other info.

Lol, is this a joke?

Biggest seller of Subprime MBS derivatives in 2K8 pre crash was Goldman Sachs. Recommended to all its clients to buy.

I just saw Qatari muppet posting GS analysis and got kinda scared. If GS is long here, hell I should be short. Quote Lloyd Blankfein: "Much has been said about the supposedly massive short Goldman Sachs had on the U.S. housing market. The fact is, we were not consistently or significantly net-short the market in residential mortgage-related products in 2007 and 2008. We didn't have a massive short against the housing market, and we certainly did not bet against our clients." Quote Rolling...

If all these feckers are recommending to short, heck I start to feel my strategy is wrong.

Well, think they are just lurking in the muppets and trend is about to finish soon. I still give it up to end of May.

I thought it may hit the daily 100EMA, and it did, right on the dot. Reckon this will GAP up when market re-opens after this days close. It will test whether the trend line and 100EMA (D1) will hold. {image}

My broker has opened and GAPed up, i read 1.0840 at current price.

Normally as the gap is quite small since the close on Friday, likely close within a couple of hours whilst the other brokers are opening.

I am thinking choppy price action and looking for an upside momentum today.

Perhaps trying to test a trend line and maybe trying to head to the 200EMA (4H).

I read it
so are they are recommending shorts to move the price lower so they can buy lower?
last year when I was trading USDCAD the big bank were forecasting 1.30
I still think they have the ability to move the markets
retail traders have the advantage of closing trades quickly and easily whereas when the big banks close positions it causes volatility
