Classic with momentum. I suspect there were many long stop orders at the whole number. Once bulls became convinced of the bear move they covered their longs. This combined with new bears entering the market helped push the market lower to the next whole number. Bulls fear about how low the market will go and bears greed not wanting to miss the move gave momentum to this trade. BYW, I still don't trust the CHF pairs.

Still Holding - Shorts on NZD/USD
Based on my view point, for long term NZD/USD potentially on Bearish. Last week, price pushed to the higher level, but that is not new higher high, the peak lower than the previous peak. Based on that scheme, i think the robber bank MMs just tried to reach higher level to add more short on higher price. Lets see, what happen on next week.

Support and resistance is a fundamental in understanding how the market works. Attached is a pic. that might help you appreciate what we have here. I have stripped all from the chart except basic PA with our highlighted volume. Can you see how our highlighted volume works to highlight S&R?

EURGBP

Yes, the long trade is against H1 trend. However, and as leentiaj pointed out on her chart, there was considerable notable volume suggesting the MMs might be closing shorts and then opening longs.

At the highs Friday - the US session - notable volume appeared. In this case it is likely the result of some longs closing positions ahead of the weekend. This seems reasonable, and maybe substantiated by the subsequent move down of price. Why? Once the MMs finished filling the "sell to close longs" orders at/near the those highs, and because they can predict those same big players will be placing new "buy to open longs" at lower prices again next week, they immediately started working the price back down.

Friday trading is unique. There are no following days on which to rely to carry the trade. If a setup looks like it can be profitable before the end of the LS, fine. Otherwise, maybe not so fine. Right? This is something to remember.

We cannot know how the MMs will move price next. And, come a new week, especially if the MMs plan on moving the price higher in the week, the early part of the week can involve lower prices again, as big players place more orders to buy and the MMs take the price down to fill them. But, the longer term outlook has recently been showing increasing signs of bulls. This long trade might create a bigger draw down before PA runs bullish again. We just cannot know.

NZDUSD

I cannot see what "anti big flag direction" refers to, but I can see two things on the H1 chart that look bullish: recent notable bull volume/price push-up followed by a 50% retrace, and again notable volumes as price bounces off support in the FR 50% area. So, the short trade might be in trouble.

On the other hand, come the new week and if the MMs are indeed bullish now, big players might place new buy orders at lower prices. If that happens, the MMs will likely move the price lower to go fill them, which would make the short trade profitable.

Once again, Friday trading is unique in that we do not have immediately following days to rely on to carry a trade.

Important Reminder to Sonikers for the New Week, Using AUDUSD as Example

This is speculative, based on the Day chart.

Last red bar denotes MMs pushed price down to reach big player "buy to close shorts" orders.
Bottom bar denotes MMs achievement of the lower price region necessary to do this.
Green bar denotes the ongoing buying activity as the MMs fill those orders to close short positions.

What remains now is for those big players to place "buy to open longs" orders, which could be placed anywhere in the lower range now established, or even a bit lower. If this happens, the MMs will go after filling those buy orders, which could result in a Double Bottom or something similar.

On the other hand, if those big players foresee greater strengthening of the USD and possibly more weakening of the AUD, then they might renew their short positions by placing new "sell to open shorts" at higher than current prices. In this case, the MMs will eventually get around to running the price back up to fill those new orders. Knowing the MMs, they might do this AFTER making a Double Bottom anyway, and for solely their own "buying to open longs", which will enable them to make extra profits on such a following move up to fill big player orders to short.

Conclusion? We cannot know how the MMs will move price. How the market really works is that big players place orders and the MMs manipulate prices to fill those orders. There can be opposite side orders from different big players. In which direction first, and how far the price is taken, is under the absolute authority of the MMs. They control the price movement. And they do so not based on any of the metrics traders use. They don't abide in price derivative indicators. They abide in what size and side orders exist on the price queue and what their price queue software tells them is the most lucrative manner in which to manipulate price so those orders can be filled and commissions earned. Some might think it will go up. Some might think it will go down. The MMs might decide to do both, and in whatever sequence of price moves enables them to make the most profit. It is all determined on what orders exist on the price queue. And that is something that is constantly changing and can sometimes change greatly, very quickly. Only the MMs have the correct current status of the price queue, and only the MMs know what their price queue software says to do about it.

So? So, we patiently wait for our Classic setup to occur on whatever pair or pairs we trade, and trade it wisely. We Sonikers are not looking for the content of news releases and published articles, much of which is "hear say and assumptions", none of it a mandate to the MMs, and much of it intended to mislead. Nor are we Sonikers looking for the highs and the lows where price turns because those highs and lows cannot be reliably "read" when they occur. And, the more that players try to do so, and make trade entries there, the more the MMs can be tempted to just push the price further in the direction it has been moving in order to profit by stopping out such entered positions. We Sonikers are looking for a momentum move in the more immediate trend. And we need to be patient and await our proper Classic setup, especially as a new week gets underway.

Price Manipulation by MMs - How the Market Works

Here one of most interesting examples of price manipulation by MMs. MMs purposefully push the price to 1.27 level
during about 2 months. Why so long? Well, answer on this question knows only MMs. But I may suppose, that it is because of current situation with big players orders. MMs knows exatly what they want: in our case they want load more longs at 1.27 And they create "pump and dump action" liquidity during price slowly move to 1.27 level


And when there are enough sell orders, MMs start their Bull run for profit and destroys sell traders

I was reading all the thread.;or at least the greater part of it over the weekend, my charts are loaded up, and will be here with you sharing my trades and will try to be an active trader here at Sonic.

Sonikers, Go Easy on the JPYs...

For the first time in several weeks there are JPY high impact releases coming during the Asian session, TOMORROW. As often stated, we Sonikers should not be giving a "hoot nor holler" for the content of news releases and published articles, much of which is "hear say and assumptions", none of it a mandate to the MMs, and much of it intended to mislead. All that really matters is being aware that the MMs routinely hold off planned moves until such releases are made. Also, sometimes big players make or change orders subsequent to releases, which might drastically change the price queue and insight the MMs to make moves to go after filling some of them.

In other words, it might be prudent to stand down on these pairs unless a really good Classic setup forms ahead of time, as per our Classic rules and recommendations, yet still exercising great caution.

AUDJPY Long Trade Open:

M15 Classic, pre-LS though. After suggesting we Sonikers "go easy" on JPY pairs this Classic setup formed up. Yes, it is against the "LS only" recommendation. And indeed, AS setups tend to have lousy outcomes. What strikes me as positive enough to trade this setup is the steadily increasing volume on leg #3 of the PA wave. I think this goes higher. If it does, it might also mean downside is coming later this week, as a move up this early in the week, ahead of JPY releases tomorrow, might be only to set the stage for filling short orders higher up.

Still, the cautious thing to do would be to wait for a LS Classic setup. My entering a trade of an AS Classic setup could turn out to be a mistake, which is usually the case. I guess I feel otherwise in this case because to me it looks like AS PA is demonstrating that the MMs are bulls due to rising volume off the AS lows. Time will tell.

USDJPY Long Trade Open:

Scout entry to M15 pre-LS Classic long setup not yet complete. I know what you and I are thinking.....why am I trading JPY pairs after posting caution on trading them prior to the JPY releases tomorrow? And, if I am trading them, is it trading them with caution to enter before the LS?

Well, this one looks bullish to me also. At the time of entry on M15 there were already spikes down to the lower TL and back up off of it with notable volumes down on the M1 chart. And the M15 chart already had as much volume as the several preceding M15 TFs even though it had been running only for about 3-4 minutes.

I think the MMs are going to push the JPY pairs higher ahead of the coming JPY releases. At least that is what the AS PA is suggesting.

AUDUSD Long Trade Open:

M15 Classic long setup, but pre-LS. As with other trades entered today in the AS, there is increasing volume off the AS lows. And the retrace back below the half number on this setup is PVSRA confirmation, as I see it.

Hi, I have a question regarding the classic set up.

There are times that I can really confused whether if it's a Short or Long classic set-up that we should be waiting for?

Take AU as an example, at the start of LO, it seems like a classic Short has appeared... which subsequently failed.

Thereafter, a classic Long present itself. Times like this I get really confused.. does it mean what we have to wait out the PA to determine if it's going to be a Long or SHort? But if we wait out, and what if the classic short did not fail, price may have moved far beyond when we deicide to enter...
