This reminds me of the first Aussie fall from 1.06 a few years back (almost exactly). Straight down with horizontal steps rather than any kind of real bounce... any bullish peeking above is met with a flood of sellers.
Ignored
It did have bounces though once it came down to around 88ish, bounce to 97, then back down hard, then bounce to 95, etc.

{quote} Really? I'm not looking at the dollar for equities but you're probably right. I do still think equities have some more downside. I'm preparing on longing them as well, as I expect new highs to come in coming months, but not sure this sell off is finished just yet.
Ignored
There's always a chance equities could bounce back from these levels but I'm fairly confident they have a bit lower to go before the bounce. Every correction since October 2014 has resulted in testing the 150DMA, and back then, the macro picture (global economy, lower job growth in US = dovish Fed, you get the picture) was arguably much more rosy. I'm with you though; I'll buy the dip, but won't be entering into any positions until 150DMA. The same goes for the EUR/USD - it's just too unpredictable at this point. While they won't admit it, I know some on this board (myself included) was expecting a decent bounce back to at least 1.08-1.09 this past week. Things are going on behind the scenes I'm not privy to, so I'll wait for a good time to short. And that'll be after the dip in US equities. There's also the FOMC. I'm probably leaving money on the table but I'd rather be safe than sorry -- this isn't a casino

As the euro plummets, options traders are trying to find a way to cash in. In a massive trade just before Tuesday's close, one trader bought 200,000 January 102/94 put spreads on the Guggenheim euro currency ETF (FXE) for $1.96 per share. Since each options contract controls 100 shares, this is a $39 million bet that the euro goes much lower over the course of the year

good freaking lord thats a lot of money.

That's right it had some nice retraces, didn't it? I just recall that it was in this amazing free fall for a while. I'll take it!

I am also long but not with much floating. Let us see if short covering happens at least on Friday.

But I guess any upward movement will again be sold of until Friday NY.
Intraday only.

I hope that whoever is seeing buying at that point in eur, to learn the hard way, every pullback is a chance to make money, and many looking to buy and making this balance, it makes me very angry
