Must be some corporate demand ahead of 1.1000/30, weak buying.

It will come down, let it pop up a bit.

It should, i have sold 1040 aswell. All we need is consolidation trough asia and london tomorrow will do its work on way down, or late asia.

Good day all,

I'm a new member and require some clarity on a technical issue that I have recently come across.
I entered into a GBPAUD trade at 1.9705 and closed in a loss at 1.95239, 182 pips later. However, when I translate this into dollars (I have a USD account) there is a 40 pip discrepancy.

I queried this with my broker as I've had situations where I get triggered into trades 40 pips before actual price and the explanation given is always that the spread widens during news (but by 40 pips).

In this instance I suspected that this might have been the case, given the discrepancy between the number of pips and the dollar amount.
According to my broker, the trade is actually in either GBP or AUD and then translated back to dollars. It is not straight dollars as I assumed.

Kindly confirm for me whether profit or loss made on currencies other than the dollar are calculated in those currencies then converted back to the dollar or eur.

Keep in mind that in order to buy/sell GBPAUD, you need to buy/sell dollars first because this is a cross between GBPUSD and AUDUSD. The value of the US dollar also fluctuates during the day so that could explain a difference in dollar amount.

Stopped out at BE on the last one, gonna try again here.. Really hate going against the trend, made some bad mistakes not holding short from 1.1425 I had etc, shit happens.
