Manual trade after two days.. platform crashed so chart was not updating properly hence the reason for the gap. Patience the name of the TRADE

Good post demp. I agree with you. This is seller9's thread and it is exciting to hear other people's input, but you are thinking the right way in that the focus here is the EA. I have not made the huge sums that Sam has, which is a delightful distraction; but I have gained great faith in the EA ...all on its own merit. To better appreciate seller9's accomplishment; imagine for a moment what you'd being doing if it didn't exist. I think seller9 IS doing a fantastic job with the basket writer (version 7 is marvelous) and the basket trader. He just released the new version 27 which he enhanced to reflect the needs of the readers herein.

Wow, thank you TSF! Your clarification of Sam's method is very well thought out. You are a very clear and good technical writer! Thank you for the help in making the excel thing work too. I will have my wife help me as I haven't used excel since the 1980's.

It was a good post.....I've read every page of this thread and I've chopped and changed who I follow to try and understand what their doing to be profitable with basket trading.....I've looked at the usual suspects, Sam, Kopratasa, Hakum, Nisha4X (before she disappeared), Shum and Demp etc.....talk about many ways to skin a cat!

But my problem (and I'm sure there are other silent sufferers out there reading this thread) has always been the picking of the pairs for which everyone seems to have a different way of doingit. I've not been using the dashboard much because others don't appear to use it but I'm thinking now its time to concentrate on using the dashboard itself which Seller9 has kindly put together. I just need to figure out (hopefully with others help) how it can be used to pick the best pairs, the ones which have a good setup waiting for you to trade on as soon as you open up the offline chart like a breakout (I think the 8 ball tends to pick the best for a breakout from what I've seen).....

Not sure if it randomly selects or there is a calculation in the pair selection. Does anyone know the formula for the 8 ball?

We've a few new versions since then - you'll love it....but why use excel....why aren't we all using the dashboard which has trend calculations on it for all the pairs and all the timesframes?

I've had good trades (some were fantastic, actually) using the Magic 8-Ball. Like ordering a fruit shake here in Thailand, I'd rather not know how it's made or what's in it. If it satisfied in the past, just do it again and cross your fingers and hope for the best. Ha!

I think I was just drawn in like a moth to the flame because of who created it. What dashboard are you referring to? The basket writer? I must've fallen asleep at the wheel here. Please let me know. Thanks.

Yes its on the basket writer dashboard. Trend box foes from W1 to M30. I don't know why nobody appears to use it for picking pairs.

Somebody a while back wanted to me to share the indicator I use to show the sessions and pip range on my charts. Be advised you need to open the indicator periodically and then close it to refresh the image to show accurate pip range.

Yes, thank you for clarifying. I use it. However, I am confused as to what it means when certain pairs are green or red ...and then highlighted in green or red. This is in the column where you select the time frame.

Without a doubt SELLER9 EA is work of ART. This thread is about his work Not me so kill it already! You should FOCUS less on me and more on understanding the CORE
Do we really need second hand information to determine which direction the pairs are moving? (CORE 7) 4 Major 3 Commodity pairs.

Trading is about FREEDOM not slaving front of the computer for 18 hours like some of you claiming to do.

RANT IS GETTING OLD.

Like many others here, I have been looking for answers, many of which are to be found in your post.

However, you highlight the core (no pun intended) of the problem with:

The explanations vary, and are contradictory.

By :

- inverse correlation ?
- trending/ranging ?
- weight ?
- % gain ?
- accumulation/distribution ?




My trading knowledge is limited, (that why I'm interested in EA's), and I am unsure what accumulation/distribution is,

but if the first two issues in the list were addressed, it would be a good start.


Seller 9, - do you have any thoughts on optimising the process of splitting the pairs please?.

Any information would be of great help.
