The greek drama is only noice. It is noice with the Eur/USD direction.

The greek will not leave the eurosone. Greek alone with a drakma wchich may decline 50% will be completly helpless without the EU. Greek is completely dependent on EU- Since greek joined the EU they have recived tremdendous support fra EU building up the infrastructure, building up industri whitin shipping, sink and alminium. It is still a country that import more than they eksport.Their main employmentt is within agiculture and tourism.
They are part of an trade program with EU they can not risk to loose. They will be comletely isolated with their most important eksporters
EU can not risk to loose Greek either because then we will se Cyprus as the next one leaving the eurosone and others may come.
Now we see a 4 month delay in this drama but dependent of this I think is only noice in the trading.

The EU still needs to go down untill there are more signs of recovery and due to this the QE which will bring the euro down.
WE can see som weaker singn in the US but the euro will still come down due to the safe heaven.
WE can se the euro rise some shortly BUT the longer terms are down. Trade the direction down insted of up even thouh it rises. Sell the rallies and keep the trend

Next month i will write again. We will see the direction of the trend.

exactly. people have to realise that the financial markets love discounting the future. it(the market) looks ahead...this is where fundamental traders go wrong. looking at the present when the present was discounted and factored in loooooooooooooooooong time ago

Made about just under 200 pips last week, and I am definitely not a pro by any means. I just don't strictly use TA. I trade in equities, which I think helps me have an overall sense of where the markets are going and why. About 95% of the posts here are related to TA with rarely any talk of macros. I think just staring at charts is counterproductive and makes people have tunnel vision. Could this be why retailers lose on average? The currency markets are cogs in a much larger machine.

I posted this earlier, but I think it's worth mentioning again for people interested in today's macro environment:

"Money for Nothing" (http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/70289294?trkid=13462100) is a documentary covering the 2008 financial crisis in the US, and the Fed's role in propping up the markets. It does a decent job of showing how central banks have become increasingly involved in "nudging" markets and provides some food for thought on certain present-day events. It's on Netflix, which I know isn't available outside the US, but I'm sure some of you can figure out how to watch it

The question I ask myself is: are the powers that be willing to let it all fall down? The US has set a dangerous precedent that Europe is starting to follow. But one could also argue that the actions by the Fed in 2008-2009 prevented (or at least postponed) a much more dire event. I'm overall bearish on the Euro long-term but technicals aside, I think it's forming a short-term base here > 1.12XX. I see upside potential in the coming weeks.

I trade mostly equity options and I don't do much TA anymore. About half the time I am in/out of trades w/o looking at a chart at all.

So how big the gap up is going to be, what do you think? Ideally above 1400...then some up to scare the bears a bit...and then I will short. Well, if that happens in this order, of course.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Some of Dukascopy liquidity providers warn their clients about an excessive risk of market gaps on Euro-related currency pairs related to Greece and its possible exit from Euro Zone which could arise at any time. In particular, there is a risk of FX markets opening on Monday morning at a significantly different level from the Friday night close.

Dukascopy is not able to leave such risk without a reaction and has decided as follows:

For all currency pairs, containing EUR, specific over-the-weekend leverage of1:30will be applied as of18:00GMT,20.02.2015. Specific leverage will be cancelled after market opening Sunday night. This adjustment will affect client's accounts of Dukascopy Bank and Dukascopy Europe with over-the-weekend leverage higher than1:30.



In addition, Dukascopy warns all the traders that there is a higher than usual probability of wide spreads, high slippage and rejects after market opening. It is recommended to reduce the exposure in EUR currency pairs, in order to avoid risk of possible Margin Cuts and negative balances.
