Read my post from may and you will see. Maybe I have been unsure abouth the direction one day. Today I was not sure too. But in the long run it has been no doubt abouth that the USD going dowm. It is possible to be unsure for some days but be sure of the direction.

And since you are reading so many of my old post you will se I have been talking abouth a declining euro from almost a year ago

Heres the problem marianne about yesterday....
Fed minutes appeared dovish yesterday pusing rate hike from q2 to potentially q3
But im sirprised by the market reaction because most of the counter party investment banks i deal with they all already had q3 in their forecast....
So unless rate hike got pushed to 2016, usd will still have strength in focus.

The market reaction was purely an alignment of several factors:
GBPUSD up by 800+ pips (we know certain days the EU follows the GU). wouldn't expect GU to drop, specially after the positive news.
EURUSD was down, so it had to " catch up" a bit with GU. and 1.13350 was the sweet spot, where the bulls had their stops.

I was long yesterday counting on these factors, but surely didn't expect it to go so high, for sure not even 1.142 or 1.145

Well, as long king dollar hikes rate in 2015 its awesome enought already. And yes, USDX may rise to 100 or even 110 depending on future events whether risk off, continued oil slides etc. I have about same target @ 1.08 actually, tho not too sure if it will bounce to 1.1520/1.1615. Short order was triggered today @ .1440

Btw, the minutes were from the meeting before NFP correct? Do u think Fed was already aware of the NFP or no? Strange that ever since NFP, even doves like Lockhart talking about rate hike "on table" for June 2015. The minutes seem more dovish than the overall fed behavior and plosser yesterday confirmed the fed does not intend to surprise markets.

I ask you what posistions you are having now? And what are your predictions abouth the euro?

On the ranges...think the main issue here is positioning, Dollar longs are huge. Even given the size of the market's Dollar longs, its hard to tell if the trade is big enough. Tightening of monetary policy hasn't happen in a decade... and we're currently in a context of the other central banks buying assets. The amount of policy divergence occurring is unprecedented. Maybe USD longs aren't nearly big enough, even given the short term noise. So the market just ranges, until it breaks again because everyone is so eager to have that same trade(rightfully so).
