There is nothing wrong with Sisse's hint, find the actual reporters that are actually there on the ground, find their twitter accounts and follow as many of them as you can. The problem is of course that for each and every newsworthy occasion that is not scheduled or well reported you are operating in the dark as you don't know who is there, if any.

I suspect your problem is taking notice of such like "Next target 1550.. or 1600 etc" These are calls without any explanation and substance, these calls you desperately need to filter and ignore, the information is here and good information, take note of Sisse, and Gatorlina, Fxtyrant posts, not just 1 or 2 of them, follow them back, you will learn a great deal.

And this is not a snipe at other posters with the "next target" posts, they are just a little unhelpfull without the analysis you have put into them.

No I do not know. I shorted this rally not to successfull 1409 and 1436 in addition to the shorts I have from before.
My plan is to sell the ones I bought today this around 1380. so will see what the day brings. Not many expected this eurorally today. If the bullish trend continious I sit quietly and wait.

People just like to read "next target" but they dont care what the potential drawdowns are...
And they always panic because they dont know that forex is a game played by the big boys and corporates, think like the big boys and you can profit from this...
Stop hunts are too obvious at times though....

interesting price action today though, five years of this bailout talk crap, headlines and denials, breakouts and fakeouts....


theres no will left to try to put on the "Grexit" trade, funny how fast it turned around from yesterday. Only thing is if things do continue to go down to the wire over the course of this week there is no blueprint for how markets will react. Most people currently seem to assume a deal is on the way because of how bad the alternative is.

ironically the quick reversal of yesterdays risk off tone actually increases the likelihood of the Eurogroup overplaying its hand and assuming they can withstand a Greek exit a la Hank Paulson/Lehman.

I got out of EURJPY shorts over night, and most pairs seem to have settled into very annoying ranges over the last month. Hurry up and wait as they say.

Very annoying range indeed, overall trend still down, but the noise with the greek debacle is sure doing a good job in getting the euro hopefuls excited
What i see today feels like a repeat of what happened around 1.16 failed to reach 1.16 by a micro pip and at the end of the week, it falls hard
Im seeing the same thing happening today high at 1.14489

Indeed. It is worth nothing however that Eurozone data has been on the mend. German GDP was good and today's ZEW as well, but obviously econ data taking a back seat to Greece.


Anyway the good thing about ranges is that its completely obvious when the range is "over".

As gator and sisse talked about yesterday....

Two options

1. Greeks stay = Euro down
2. Greeks go = Euro down

They're a cancer on a terminally ill patient with heart disease. Doesn't really matter either way.

Another good thing about ranges.... When the overall trend starts to dictate he direction again... A lot of people would be asking what the hell happened....

funny how the big boys pushed eurusd to take out the rect highs at 1.1439 but mad sure they didnt touch that magic 1.1450 level... Bet theres a lot of order keeping the eurusd down....

You mean the prevailing trend, and the other data are just "noise" correct? I read about the % on treasury notes also having an impact. apparently US notes are considered more attractive at the moment are part of the money inflow into US. Coupled with potential rate hike (when others easing or cutting), overall stable government etc.

Of course usd is attractive... Think about it normally if bond goes up, equities go down....
But both bond and equities in us are moving up, so that tells you huge fund flow moving back to the USD, and buying up us assets like hot cakes
