In investment banking you got the investment side and the sales and trading side
Investment side involves debt cap market, equity cap markets, m&a and coverage advisory. These guys in the investment side are the guys who literally has no time to rest, constant testing of scenarios and adjustments of cashflows depending on the share, debt aissuance or merger deals.

Whereas the sales and trading side activity varies depending on market condition so yes at times i do have shit loads of time on my hand.. Especially when chinese new year holiday is coming up day after tomorrow
Some corprates i desl with in Hong Kong are already off for the holiday.

Lol not to mention its bonus month here in HK when we reached our annual target we tend to lower our activity

Not that I want to go too offtopic, but how is Hong Kong? I will need some new inspiration soon, so looking into Asia...and not sure where to start. Can I have there city life and beach life close to each other? Any chance to survive with no chinese language skills?

Hong kong is fine... But lots unrest in the districts outside of central... Just the other day there was like a riot in the shopping malls. Hk citizens going against ill mannered and poorly cultured china mainlanders
As for no chinese language skills, you'll manage to survive... Hk still has huge amounts of expats and ppl eho studied in US, UK and Australia
So english is fine.

Thanks for the info! Chinese language, I was just worried about the signs outside...streets, subway, etc...

Only thing you need to know about HK is no capital gains tax.

dude, everywhere you go you get that packed situation, but living standards are already far better than other emerging markets say..... India, indonesia, brazil etc etc...

in that picture you posted they all got air conditioners....

its only packed because Hong Kong is just a small island but 8 million people live here in HK....
HK has one of the best airports and underground transit in the world.
HK rankings in most things are mostly in the top 10 percentile.

yeah... it's only the bad side of the city...every big cities have one...but remember, the guys love to take care of the foreigner...city with lot of money= lot of thiefs/bad people around etc...you are french so you should know better than me how the pickpocketers threat the chinese tourists in Paris...they empty their pockets steal credit card and use them...then their visit turns as a nightmare, and more with language problems they get misunderstood... and see that the police don't give a fc.k to their problems... idk if the grass is really greener...

well heres the thing. crime is not that high in Hong Kong.... when you compare it to France...
im half French half Chinese (Hong Kong), im but i have to say im ashamed of what France has become.... Paris doesnt feel "french" anymore if you know what i mean....
it really seems like too much of anything is not a good thing... in France's case, too much democracy, too much benefits, too much liberty.... thats whats screwing up France. and not only france... other european nations too....
