I was checking the dxy yesterday in detail.

From a strictly technical point of view there is a very strong formation for 5/3 wave extension on the weeklies. Meaning the current wave down will be truncated after we break down the lows. Making the break back up of the highs very powerful and extended move (e.g. we are talking euro parity power force)...

In any case, lets see how the DXY pans out this short term move first until NFP.

EURUSD rose during yesterday session to a daily resistance zone at 1.1460. However, this is an area that begins a cluster of resistance up to the 1.1557 level. A break above the 1.1557 could trigger an upward move to 1.1752 the next daily resistance zone.

If I may add my 2 cents,

The outcome of the first meeting (scheduled for today) between Greek authorities and the ECB will give the path for the next two weeks JMO.

Yes. DX has room to come down some more and likely hassle and turnaround comes up on 3rd week this month.

There is really some art of FX underway, i just hope that it wont be screwed up.

For me eurusd is valid for buying when it trades above 1.1425 and not having equal or bigger than 15min closes below that mark.

Well I am not really convince about that. Greece is a lot less important than it was before.

Most of the smart money left, relocated and rebalanced risk already (years ago) and left the "hot potato" and the leftover and bones to the Euro Zone Governments holding worthless paper debt. Sure we will enter in "Soap Opera" mode before the deadline at the end of the month but it's mainly about containing anything extreme with Greece more than anything related to the actual outcome between Bureaucrats.

In simple words, the european Greek Tour so far has been very clear and its settle in my books:

1. Greece is not going to do anything very stupid short term.

2. They found the technicality catch phrase: "Swap to bonds link to growth" to please the average greek without breaking campaign promises and also please the main political parties in the right and left across europe (including Brussels eurocrats)

3. The real movers and shakers (from economist & analyst to any investment bank or hedge fund) mostly agree that this is pure Bs. The new plan doesn't make any sense in financial terms and it wont solve the real issue but is good enough as long it doesn't trigger something chaotic across the markets (meaning kicking the can in Greece to see if QE works and Europe turn the page).

In my opinion, the path is more or less a done deal. Its just wait and position with the noise before the end February deadline. Once the real 11th hour deal between Greek Authorities and the Bureaucrats is settle or whatever... we will be already testing the lows and heading for next tranche of QE for the leg to parity...
