Do many of you have times when MT4 disconnects and then shows gaps on charts when it finally reconnects? This was not an internet connection problem on my end but an MT4 connection issue, possibly on the brokers server end.

Here's a screenshot of the 1m charts from just a few minutes ago. Some 20 pip gaps that would hurt scalpers.

I got disconnected several times a day. but never experience gap like this. it must have been on the broker side. really worried sk

Thanks O. I was with FinFX for two years and this happened fairly frequently.... even knocked me out of some trades on lower time frames, which they refused to reimburse me for, even though there was no high impact news event volatility. This weekend, FinFX moved their US customers to Tallinex due to US NFA regulations. So, I've been with Tallinex all of 7 hours and I already got hit with the first case of chart freeze and gap upon re-connection. Thankfully I didn't have any positions open to be stopped / gapped out of tonight. But I wondered if others have this happen with any frequency. Trading is hard enough the way it is without this kind of stuff happening.

Just disconnected again.... yet, my internet server strength is 5 of 5 bars and I can reload FF.com pages and post here. So, the issue is definitely on the brokers side.

Three minute disconnect and here's the charts results.... 10-20 pip gaps.

Hi SJ, I have a question because I share the same view as aussieFX. When the current 4hr candle closes the swing high would have been broken and PA would indicate sell. The 1hr and 30min also indicate a sell (TDI cross, price closed outside of PAC and bouncing of guppy).

AS TMS traders we use more than one entry signal do you see one being more valid than the other? i.e tdi cross stronger signal than the guppys or PA? I'm sort with a target of 176.0 in demo btw.

Try changing the server you connect to, see if that helps.

My MT4 shows a "main at 141ms" and a "backup at n/a". Doesn't look like switching servers is an option. But, thanks for the suggestion.

Have you tried re logging in and change the drop down to Japan live.

Have tried logging out / in with no improvement. Not sure what you mean by changing a drop down to "Japan live". Can you post a screenshot?

Click on file then Log in to trade account and then you have some choices

Ah, got'cha. That's not an option either.... I have to use the broker's required server number. No "Japan live" even listed as a choice.
