Your first trade look at the swings, it had made a lower high then a lower low, then you went in for a buy, always wait until it makes a higher swing low before buying, its safer that way, look at Omonisha's trades and you will see what I mean. Your second trade was far, far too late, just because its gone up 200 pips doesn't mean it will carry on going for another 200 pips and if you must go in that late, go to a smaller timeframe and watch for pullbacks on there before just going in. Not sure why you left it that late.

Thanks sknight. I wish I was a master, but maybe some day. I have been trading far less in January but have made more money. So maybe less is more.

Hi mordin,

One of the basic rule of trading is Do Not Chase After the Market.

In both trades you show in your charts above, you entered on those very long candles. And in very strong trending market and seeing those long candles/price bars, where would you place your initial SL?
Trend swings will run 3 to 8 candles(that's is one belief of TMS traders) , but chose your entry carefully when you missed the candle #1 and #2, Use Price action setup to catch an entry on the next consolidation which can be seen in the lower timeframe.

When you use the last swing low as technical stop, then that trade setup entry will not make much sense because using %risk and position sizing, it won't be attractive. Using fix SL like 50 and 100 pips will not work because often the price will pull back and will threaten your small SL. This cause stress to many traders seeing their SL being threaten.

It just happened to be on the chart I posted and I don't use it but it's the TMS-Matrix 4TF probably in the paperclip above. I attempt to use as few indicators as possible keeping in mind KISS......

Hi brekz1,

I only use that on D charts and I look at the 20-day average for the APB and the real price bars.

But if you use that on lower TF like H1 and H4, I suggest that you set the MA period to 100 period, this will let you see the APB size over a longer distribution.
APB size close to the 100 MA is good, above the 100-MA is excellent to stay in the trade. Small APB less that 25% is an indication price has losing momentum and be careful of change in direction.
Small APB body seen on the price chart is an indication of possible change in direction and we must then rely on the real price bar for reversal pattern.
Small APB body seen in a trending swing are mostly price contraction / consolidation.These are situation when we should look for price action to trade the continuation.

Hi merrygold,

There are no dumb questions. Every question is good and it is part of our learning process. It helps you and also many others when we ask questions.

The APB/HA historgram shows the APB body only. That is very clear what you see on the price chart above and the histogram below.
The MA line is to compare over a certain user selectable period. That has nothing to do with the PAC 5-period SmoothMA we use on the price chart.
Set that MA to period 100, and see if you can use that APB/HA Histogram. If not, then drop that indicator and focus onn using the PAB which is on your price chart and place the real price set to Bar Chart either in background or foreground. That will aloow you to see the real price open and close, also its high and low, over the APB candles.

In the TMS 5-Method model, the setup candle is the APB which closes above or below the 5-EMA shift+3. This is Big E aggressive trading entry.
Conservative trading style uses the 5MA PAC and wait for a APB candle which close above or below the PAC as the setup candle.

Traders who chose to trade the aggressive style must be proficient in the use of Price Action at Support & Resistance aka PASR trading.
You will find many PASR setup candles which are inside the 5MA PAC.

Those vertical lines you marked in your charts above are not the best when we apply PASR to look for trade setups.

Please note I make a clear distiction between the 5MA PAC and the new PAC in the Synergy_Pro_APB. They are different therefore you need to fine-tune your trading rules.

trading trending market type is made easy when we trade with TMS.
When market does into narrow range sideways, that's when trading becomes difficult and we need to pull out our bag of tricks and deal with that market type.

On your recent trade for EA and GA, may i know how do you determine this is a good pair to trade and have high volatility move as I don't see any news related to the currency? Do you see it from D1 chart?

Trading using the Day candle bias.
I read some posts and a few PMs, obviously some new traders have not grasp the concept of trading with multiple time frame analysis approach.

What I do is I form a big picture using higher TF charts, Monthly and Weekly which will help me decide on my 4H and D chart position trading.
However, when I want to trade intraday on H1 chart, I can trade both counter trend or following the higher TF trend.
Using the Day chart and see what the chart and price bar patterns will help me decide if I can trade counter trend or follow-the-trend.

But if you look at D chart at the start of the day, you will see clearly that the market is sideways and caught inside the wide range D bar high and low. I posted that Pop Gun setup last week and some of you may not have read that post.

Below is an example using GBPUSD H1 with the Day candle in background.

Those pairs EURAUD and GBPAUD were selected for trading this week based on:-
1) the market type being trending
2) volatility - recent days volatility exceeded its 100-days average for EA 150pips and GA 190pips.
3) range - the average weekly traded range are EA 300 to 320 pips GA 370 to 430 pips

The other factors which I also consider is the currency correlation with the Aussie pairs and their composite strength.

The Euro and Cable Crosses are my favourite.

Bk8,

I don;t know what FXPM is and I don't use any app for my pair selection.

I have my watchlist below but I don't trade all the pairs at the same time because with limited % risk money I have to limit my exposure.

Today is the last trading day for the Jan month and also it is a Friday.
If you trade today, you are trading the monthly candle closing.

Study price behaviour on such days like today.

Protect all open trades on D charts.
No opening of new 4H swing trades.
Only short term intraday trades and close them when London closes.

Wow you are the best, I wish I could have patience like you. I plan well and about to win most trades but prob with me is that I put all money as soon as I see wining opportunity but loose patience and run away with pennies and keep buying or selling until I find myself in huge mess and loose hundreds of dollars��
