I don't think anyone with half of a brain was expecting Greece to pay anything back. The country got into the debt for a reason, because morons were running the country in a moronic way. Imagine you spent all your money on drugs and prostitutes and then go to a bank to ask for a loan to spend more on the same. Would you get it? In this scenario, Greece somehow got it. lol

I mean, talking just economis facts...the Greeks had wages and retirements that could have been compared to Germans, but work productivity that can be compared to ...hmm...I am thinking of a lazy nation...can't think of anyone with a lower productivity than Greece at the moment. You do the math...if you keep making $1 per hour and spending $10, no loan will ever help.

before u.s. dilution euro was falling, pointing to the ground. then post 911 printing began (fake rates stimulation so we would go shopping) then some wars and a 2008 crash with more printing (usd dilution). meanwhile the ecb was keeping rates higher. turning around the pre 911 euro crash trajectory.

the shoe is on the other foot in 2015.. less u.s dilution and more euro dilution along with technical's pointing the same direction.

well if you wana put it this way.... if you didnt know lehman brother was gona collapse on collateralised debt and securitised products, would investors have bought into those crap???
they still bought it.... because people saw the potentially return but didnt truly understand the underlying risks involved....

people are just dumb, and we have been proven time and time again.
so, im not surprised people are dumb enough to hope for greeks to pay back their debt.

thats why i've been advocating that EURUSD to go back below parity..... last 4 years the timing wasnt right because both Euro and US were easing... but now is a different story.... Euro still in easing, heck accelerated easing.. while US is slowing down or potentially reverting their easing....
shit is going down...

Its hard to believe anyone who has so much money to spend would be so dumb...but I guess anything is possible. But to me its the same as lending money to a guy on the train station who comes to you to ask for 5 bucks for a ticket, because he was just "robbed and lost his wallet". And he will ask for your address, so he can send the money back.

Actually you have no idea how many dumb rich people ive seen....
studying at a full europeans only university, where rich oil prince and political people send their sons and daughters....
they all have vertu phones, they have daddy for internships, they have private jets to fly back to monaco, they think they got the right to brag about their rich lifestyle but the fact is that they arent doing shit, they're just your typical average hedge fund babies who likes to show off the family wealth...
"oh im gona fly back to monaco for the weekend, oh i drove my uncle's ferrari and we lost 50k euro at one go the other night on poker...."

Well, even if someone in Greece knew what is comming, there was no way they would stop it. Every party in democracy wants to win and party that takes away "peoples" money because some kind of crisis can happen in the future will probably lose.

Greece gets all the focus. they all have bad debt including Germany.. The German government fiscally responsible? is loaning money that u dont expect to get back fiscally responsible? when Poland's housing market crashes in a few months, it will bleed over to the Swiss and Germany , ecb, +. banks are connected. countries back banks

This is noone else's fault but the public's, because even now they voted for the morons who promise them money which they don't have. In my opinion, greece is always doing what's best for them. By entering Eurozone, the govenment could borrow cheap money at that moment. That paved the way for aggressive fiscal policy and social welfare.
Refusing to pay back their debt now is a great idea too. Quit Eurozone, depreciate their money, export goes up. Economy recovers. They would be rich again.

which goes to my argument that Democracy maybe the downfall of civilization. democracy is potentially dangerouns because indeed people know that they want, but sometimes peopel want something too idealistic..... sometimes too much freedom can cause chaos....
with democracy, we give way to opposing views and where opposing views comes into play, nothing gets done..... because we balance out the "sides" so we become directionless....

i know this might sound hypocritical of me but we need a leader. the world needs a leader and a direction to strive for.... right now we see western countries falter because of the lack of a clear direction.

lets not forget the Swiss exposure to southern Utopia like Greece. those Swiss backed defaults, can deflate Europe housing prices, leading to a snowball of defaults.. The Swiss banks poised to take on water from many directions from exported loans

Democracy would work only if dumb people wouldn't be allowed to vote. They should do IQ tests or something before someone is allowed to make a vote. Then populists wouldn't stand a chance.

I feel democracy is okay as a political system. Just not today's democracy. Democracy is not a solid brick, not changing since ancient Greece, it can be evaluated and improved which I hope for.

And I don't think there is a better solution at the moment
