I also have one account with FXCM and will keep this for while longer now that they have a life line to hang on to.
End of last year, I was considering Oanda and Alpari, but after what happened last week, I pit this on hold for a few more weeks.
More stories will emerge next week so we keep our ears on the ground for the next wave. A few more small brokerage firms will close shop.
Those firms that are well capitalized and with 'big brother' behind them will survive.

good evening everyone, as many of you know I am switching brokers and have never used an mt4 platform before so I'm taking a saturday night watching some videos and messing around with a demo mt4 platform so Im ready to trade sunday night. I think I have the basics down and I think I have my TMS stuff the way I want. a couple questions though, Where can one find a good s/r indicator? Also I always used heiken ashi overlayed on a bar chart, Do these synergy bars look correct to you, with the open,high,low,close etc etc. also what is the difference between this synergy pro TDI I have loaded and the older version I had on my tradestation II platform, or are they all calculated the same way? If someone could answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it. this is what I have so far

Learn Price Action to trade with TMS 5-Method:

below is an example using USDJPY H1.
That H1 setup candle is high probability.
Practice and test your PA skills to see if your can spot the reasons for that.

Hi emm, For how I trade I would wait til the next candle for entry for a couple reasons that are my own. but that setup candle closed above the PAC, it didn't break or close below the low of the previous structure and it looks like it has tested and failed to break support farther back in the day. Thats what I would go off of??

Hi Ray,

You are right that eelfranz uses the previous price swing high - low to place his technical stop loss when he enters a trade.

And very good clean chart you posted. A very good trade example you posted.

I just want to steal that USDCAD H4 chart and zoom out to see more of the price action when we trade H4.

In the H4 chart above, I marked two setup candles. Practice and know how those two candle qualify as setup candles.

Hi FXerha

The Synergy_Pro_TDI has been set to period 10 as default. Also the price type is weighted close, which takes into consideration the volatility of the price bars.This will make the TDI PL Green angle less significant than other versions of the TDI. When using the Synergy_Pro_TDI, give more attention to the price action using the real price bars and check the APB candle body size. Also use the Synergy_Pro_APB which has its own PAC build-in it.
Combining these up-to-date changes, you will have 'a leading edge' and will put you ahead of other traders who are using other versions of the TDI.

Note: The Synergy_Pro_APB in-built PAC is not the same as the older PAC which uses the 5-smoothed moving average set to High and Low as a channel.
This new PAC is calibrated with price volatility over a 9-period EMA. Why use 9 EMA? Anyone knows or want to make a guess.

Yes, I saw that yesterday.
If you been down to their office building, I am sure their flag would be at 'half mast'.

Yay whyley !!! Good for you on checking out videos for MT4 basics. Youtube is fantastic for speeding up one's learning curve.

There's also this one.... I'm not sure which is "better". I've used both but, typically draw in my own S&R levels so things don't get cluttered up on lower time frames.

Due to the Thursday’s dramatic move on the Swiss franc by the Swiss National Bank, a number of brokers have announced that they “can no longer meet regulatory minimum capitalization requirements because of significant losses”. A considerable number of brokers went bankrupt and closed down.

Same here. Seems it had some regression issues while they made recent update. Now I hardly read FF from my iPad again. Layout is gone wrong... Hope they fix the issue quickly next week.
