This wasnt action done becouse they have fear of ECB policies or their moral compas started suddenly working correct. For crist they were on invasion of propaganda against gold referendum not long ago. Action taken by SNB was simply to be done becouse they were caught in very hard place, and to stick with it would be very expensive, it would also increase balance sheet of CB big time, and possibly cause further inflation in Swiss. Thats just first round of problems. They werent in "peged" status becouse they thought it was good for them, people have to stop thinking that. It was done for good of whole system, not for Swiss.

True but the main problem of the move wasn't actually the policy (taking out the BAND) but the way the did it. They really meet the stereotypes with the announcement "a la suisse". Arrogant and in complete isolation of the rest of the "world". World in this case meaning their own major companies, investment funds, the financial markets impact, their neighbourhoods, the world economy....not even the IMF was informed....

They could have done the same in different ways. The SNB just 2 days ago guarantee the floor. Companies and investor made yearly decisions with that. Out of the blue backstabbing everybody will charge its toll sooner rather than later via massive deflation and small recession...

which everway the eur/usd is preparing for a big drop!! major supports at 1.1650 if broken we will see more downward movement.. R @ 1.1740. have entries at both levels. lets see what happens

Maybe the IMF or the ECB tried blackmail them.

obviously yes, but not just yet to start QE. I anticipate they wait for a while say the first Q1 of the year then shoot up slowly slowly. It is clear to us that there is a QE, but it is a matter of time. no sign of it till now... so scalping only until it goes on...

Agreed. It's not about what they did, it's about how and when they did it. The exact reason i see lawsuits/investigations flying soon
