I use Alpari, had two open orders that both closed in loss 9:24 London time. Afterwards i couldnt trade at all. Which is pretty fucked up, since its dancing about the 2005 low, so i WOULD probably want to trade right now.

To play safe one should ever never have positions open during weekend on thin interbank markets.
They think they are smarter than I am.

It should be EurUsd move EurGbp not the other way round

just put a buy order in eurusd before the news 1.1645 entry for 15 pips 5 lots

It depends mate, looks at the weekly channel of eur/gbp, everytime the bottom is reached, it rallies up strongly, if it does this time, it'll be eur/gbp that will make eurusd move a bit, unless it's because of GU losing strenght, anyway, I'm long on this pair

I have one long on EU also, small volume, waiting for US news.

Also, is there a brokerage that insures the account in case the broker becomes insolvent?... I know there's insurance for other types of trading but commodities/futures/forex a different beast I guess... not insurable because of crap like what happened yesterday I suppose.

well said, otherwise, our accounts will reach margin call just because of widening the spreads like what Alpari Uk did Yesterday... They usually do that anyways so better to close orders on losses rather than to let them open...

PS. I still can't believe their giant spreads on USDCHF yesterday... that was a dreamland story

If the big boys are taking these hits..and are supposedly "regulated" what about the small brokers. They are probably on their 2nd bottle of Jack Daniels right now trying to sort out what to do.
