It puzzled me too. I check news every time. But did't see that on calender. To be honest if it were there i wouldn't have give it importance. Cause i didn't know that CHF news will effect GBP or Euro. That's a lesson i learned today. Still a newbie. Lot to learn.

It was an unscheduled event as well as the 1.20 floor introduction back in 2011.

Good morning everyone, It's N/Y open.

I see things are getting interesting!
Their is always something going on. It is best
to diversity your pairs that you are trading &
always place a stop. The 8 pairs that Eelfranz
traded are pretty good.

eur/usd, gbp/usd, aud/usd, usd/jpy, usd/chf, eur/gbp, eur/aud, eur/jpy

Always, always, always protect yourself...!

I wanted to give a update of my trades from the other day.

I took profits in: eur/usd, eur/gbp, eur/aud, eur/jpy.
Still holding daily trades (set & forget) gbp/usd, aud/usd.
I'll hold these until they hit my target or my stop takes me out.

Thank God I wasen't trading the chf/usd (that would have been a huge loss
because I would have been trading long).

Out of the 8 pairs that I trade, at most I'll only trade 6 at 1 time!
I try to keep my risk under control...if you want to be trading next year,
diversify out, manage your risk, use money management, etc...

I guess you could say that risk management is super important!

I don't know if anybody has been watching PA on some swiss pairs after the fiasco this morning, but there are pips to be made while the market tries to figure out whats going on with the value of the franc.+147 gbp/chf and +41 on chf/jpy, I closed waaaay to early on chf/jpy because I let my emotions get the best of me

Wow, Im sure glad I was to dozy to notice the news, I probably would not have traded what is turning out to be a good day for me.
I know some big boys disregard news when trading but I cant understand why as there are these massive spikes.

Anyway another 42 pips on usd gbp. my aus usd reversed and closed me out still made a pip or 2.
REDCLOUD , where are you going snow boarding? sounds great. We dont get enough snow in Devon. enjoy your weekend, wish I could be doing that.

just woke up 30 mins ago, rechecking forum etc etc, seems like over all quite a good night for everyone

caught 86 pips on EA from FO until LO +1.5
got quite lucky that EA first leg is south and not north otherwise i would have lost this position.
didnt know about this until LO+2 when my alarm woke me, saw orders filled (equivalent to 70 pips on eu/gu)
went over my 50 pips a day goal, went back to sleep. woke up this morning and i see there are tons more opportunities that i missed.
still quite happy. one in hand is better than 2 somewhere else moment

Griffin, i hope you took that GN short you were looking before, cause that was 200 pure pips.
also it does look like ECAD went south ;p

see you guys much later (few hours before LO) i have class soon + car appointment blerghh
