Hi everyone...can someone answer what I hope is a simple question. I open an offline chart, but all it displays is 'Waiting for Update'.
just noticed v4 works but not v5

''waiting for update'' - possible because you didn't added suffix ,at least this happen to me when i forget to add.

I'm having the same problem. When I click "Write Basket File" it correctly creates a text file under MQL4\Files but the contents are empty, just contains a single zero.
It is not possible to open an offline chart because it needs the pairs listed in the text file to create the offline chart.
edit: Does anyone have version 4 that I can try.

Figured out the issue.......v5 has a minimum_magic_pair parameter....mine was set to '8'....change it to a '1'. issue fixed...also the education or dummy button works

I change mine to '1' and it just hangs MT4.

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever installing and running the software, and that includes running it on a gateway to a non-MT4 broker.

It may have something to do with the fact that I watched the videos on the first page.

I was also thinking about this problem, if we can creat an offline chart with reverse pairs, we can make sure one thing, that is T101's original idea would be a ranging trade or swing trade. And the chart would be somewhat flat in higher TF.

I followed the installation instructions precisely, pausing the video as I carried out the instructions, have done this 3 times now, two different brokers, one is ECN.
I don't have version 4 of Basket Writer, can't find it so can't test it.

You don't need BW4, you can use BW5. The difference is explained in the video Basket Writer V5 Update.

There is also a reason why MT4 is non-responsive ("hangs") and the reason for that is also explained in the video; actually it is mentioned in several videos. If you overlooked that, chances are you also overlooked other things. The devil is in the detail.

Basically, you need to remember and STOP the robot. Its quite a user friendly EA and basket writer.

Newbie here.
Watched all the videos and read (most) of the thread.
Install went perfect and first couple off standard baskets (baskets for dummies button) also.

But then i wrote my own basket, opened ofline chart, loaded BT-14, stopped the bot and wanted to change the trade direction of the usdcad and usdchf pairs, restarted BT-14 and opened a short manually.

Only 5 pairs but it send 11 trades. I closed the basket and went short again, same result.
Close the basket and went long, everything ok, all trades reversed from reversed of course.
Closed it again, opened short and same 11 trades, big error.

Can somebody tell me what i did wrong ?

Forgot to mention, no errors in logs.

I bet you forgot to change the magic number of the robot. It is explained in the videos

And i only have this singe BT running on this mt4.

But this is also interesting.
I cleaned up the BT settings and added just the two pairs i wanted to reverse and used the CORRECT display sequence so pair 4 and pair 5.
Still opening 11 trades.
I tried it with only reversing 1 pair, worked perfect.

If you reverse one pair it works, if you reverse more than one pair it gets confused.
