Good morning all,
I was most certainly shocked to have seen EUR/USD gap down, and gap down so much. Yet, it will be a lesson learned for all those who are new to forex.
1) Be careful holding position over night.
2) Even though we saw that massive drop on EU atthe start of the market, it doesn't mean that it was a trade able move, as the spread in some brokers was as much as 45 pips
3) Some brokers were actually closed when the market made it's move, as most brokers open 1 hour AFTER the market actually opens.
3) Support/resistance levels can be so miss leading, as you are getting away from price action when you take those trades.

German states reporting drops in CPI, so a drop in the overall German CPI is very likely, but not negative (yet) the expected 0.2% for YoY is probably on the ball.

 

  1. Saxony 0.5% vs 0.7% prior
  2. Brandenburg 0.3% vs 0.7% prior
  3. Baden W 0.1% vs 0.5% prior
  4. Bavaria 0.3% vs 0.8% prior
  5. NRW 0.1% vs 0.7% prior

uj could go either way here. med term pa still has 114.0x .. bulls are trying to set up a hh of 122.6x or more (121.85 would still need to be broken also). to do this 119.74 has to be taken st. if not, they fail. if uj bulls fail, the world equity markets should be reflected with weakness. the u.s. equity markets may be less affected then others. atm 120.41.. if uj bulls fail, crosses weak against the usd. may be the better yen crosses to s.

its since dropped 30 pips.. norm has about 5200 pips stored in a spring. tech reasons like in the eu months back.

Absolutely agree. For the Noob scalpers, sometime in 2014, I think July a challenge was put out by somebody introducing his Arches scalp method. Which was so confusing, anyway I answered his challenge with a simple 1 min & 5 min E/U scalp method I use. It does not need to be in a trend. In fact I use this method to scalp when the market is flat, no trend. The E/U is notorious for cycling back and forth 5 to 10 PIPS 90% of the time when the market is flat. With a simple 2 EMA Shift2 you take both longs and shorts and eventually, when a trend does start you are already in the trade (works great before the Tokyo open). I no longer have the pictures on my computer but here are the screenshots from that thread.

I think, 1.1880 and 1.1860 are the strong supports for the EU. On the upside, there are many resistances.
