the times i usually get cautious. for a 92/95 spike/bounce . this just dont seems like normal times when the last 14/40 years are considered. more oil with less demand is a time to sell weakness. on the ledge atm

im not so sure, given the diverging monetary policy in ECB and FED, i dont think entering short too soon is a problem... but rather people whos trying their luck catching this falling knife and going agains the central banks... those people will suffer hard if they are position traders. scalpers fine, not gona argue but im a trader aiming medium-long term moves.
i cant give out trade recommendations if im scalping since if i do scalp, by the time i came up with a trade, people would most likely already miss the trade.
so i dont get why scalpers here share their trades other than to show off...
since its nearly impossible for other traders to follow a scalpers' trades

Hi Fxtyrant,

What are your thoughts about using a longer term, compounding, trend-following model to pursue this market for next X months until fundamental trend changes? Not asking for recommendations or specific trading advice. Just curious what your opinions on that type of strategy. Sorry if you've covered this before. I'm reading through your previous posts but am only about 15% through.

I usually avoid forums however if I'm in doubt and feel myself tempted to bet against trend I come to FF to see what everyone is doing. As long as they are betting against trend I know I can be reassured I'm taking the right position against them lol. I've found my trading style is very similar to yours, though I doubt my performance matches up to your own for any comparable length of time. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I will sell EUR/USD at 1.21 if it retrace and if not I will sell it at 1.207, looking for 1.18.

usdx hit a multi year target.. 2042 is a low from a few years ago.. its very bearish, and it still will be on a bounce higher.. even if it was 500 pips higher (not expecting 500 but who knows. ). 1.1996 or anytime now is good for me.. i am not in, so it dont matter to me. i just want to sell higher. 1.1996 is not that special to me.. just a mid from 399x to 1.000.. 1 is probably a target. getting there may form that path soon as it gets on more radars. 1996 fibs may give clues. clues may be closes above 2058 after dipping below (or vice verse), the same with 1996 or 2120

Big gap down on open? I forgot this one position open
while I was just scalping and even set a TP. higher than the gap.
I'm guessing the position will then be close when the market opens?
This is the first time this has happened so I don't really know what to expect.

Thank you but that was really by accident as I didn't mean to leave it open.
I should have closed it before Friday's close.

Hopefully it's a sign of what's to come in this year 2015.
