if I had a sell limit order on eu at 2256 but my broker is closed today and by tommorrow the rate is 2270, is my pending order will be executed at 2256? Any idea anyone?

My broker would execute it at the opening price, 2270 in that case.

When the market goes back to 2256 it will trigger If you keep the order.

if that so, the sell limit order has outlawed its algoritm and an error supposed to be occurred as sell limit is a short order if the price is higher than current rate. Isnt it?

No, when the limit order is 2256, and the broker is closed above the holidays, and the first price he quotes is 2270, the order has become market order and will be executed

whenever it opens .. above your entry, u should get filled... and if your stop loss is within.. you should be s/o right after.. if that happens, the spread is your loss. if not, u were filled at a higher price anyway.. both to your advantage

if all retail brokers are close all banks and hedge funds are close then who is driving euro rates?

the market is open (trades) 24/7... with my u.s. credit card i can charge a coffee in France even on Christmas day when my cc bank is closed. transactions take place 24/7. money is exchanged 24/7..banks trade all the time.. sometimes they do have serious gaps from Friday to Sunday because of a political or financial event. its just a gap because your broker was closed

The Limit Entry order is a conditional limit order to open a short position. The order is sent for execution attempt when the market bid price is equal or above the order trigger price.

The Limit Entry order is a conditional limit order to open a long position. The order is sent for execution attempt when the market ask price is equal or below the order trigger price.

You can avoid this, when you place instead of a limit order a "stop" order
