Hello Phx62, thankyou! Tms is a great thread... Imho, the best thread

Let's talk about the set & forget strategy.

When your using colored apb's were looking for long runs.
It doesn't matter what time frame your on, were still looking
for apb's of 3 to 8 candles.

You have to let the trade mature. Their is a beginning, a middle and
a ending point to every trade. Most traders freak out in the process and cut the
trade short and lose many pips that should be theirs.

You have to be able to keep your emotions in check. One of the reason's
Eelfranz was so successful, is because he slept through the whole process.
I'll tell you a secret...I have lost 70 pounds in the last couple of years.
I built a small exercise room in my house. So when I'm in a trade and
I feel pressured to do something I go into the spare bedroom and
workout. I lift weights, I have a tread climber that I use... The idea
is to focus your mind on anything but your trade.

You set your stop loss & your target and walk away for however long it
takes for the trade to mature and don't mess with the trade. If your
trading on the 1 hour charts. Your trade could last 3-8 hours. You need
to learn how to chill out and let the market do it's thing.

We have no control over the market! We have control over our entry's,
exit's and stop loss. We have to let the market do it's thing and we need
to learn how to chill out during the process. Lift weights, clean the house,
do laundry, read a book...the last thing you want to do is watch every single
tick in the market and drive yourself crazy.

The secret then is to chill out & get your emotions under control. Even if that
means shutting the computer off. You have the system and you know what
your looking for. As we go into the future I want to talk about emotions.
The system is 30% of trading. The other 70% is handling your emotions.
You can have the best system in the world...but if your emotions are out
of control your never going to make the money you should. So this next
phase I'll share with you some secrets on keeping your emotions in control.
This is the real secret to trading...

I just liquidated out of my aud/usd for 96 pips. We're
so close to the holidays, that I just wanted to take my
profit & run.

You are looking at the market very well... & doing very good!

I have found that trading is a very interesting profession.

Most of the people I know have no idea what I do or
how I do it. And when I try to explain it to them I get
a blank look in the eyes and a smile...

Thanks SJ for your kind words, My regular day job is keeping me very busy and making it hard for me to trade. I did some backtesting on Saturday (as I just have this day off) . I did trade GA daily on Demo today.

Please see the chart below for more explanation. As it has been said many times trading on daily charts requires more patience and better money management. I don't want to rush to the daily until I prepare myself mentally.

As per the biking, I would quite prefer this .... haha... (maybe it's like trading, i was more oriented into low-timeframes and scalping.... haha)

It's a total mind shift and that can be very hard.
That said it is a very profitable chart to trade on (daily).
Ease into it and when your ready I'm ready...

There you go...the lower time frames!
A person has to be very, very good to trade the
5 minute, 15 minute time frames and I might
even say the 1 hour time frame.

That is why Lastingwell is so good! She can do that...

The 4 hour & daily charts are a lot more forgiving, especially
for a old guy's that just want's to make some money and
have a nice life with as little stress as possible.

My first trade this week and I finally managed to walk away from the computer and let it do its thing (thanks to SJ).

That was excellent!
The secret is "walk away" and let the market do it's thing.
You don't need to micro-manage everything. Especially,
the market. The market cannot be controlled, so why
try to control something that can't be controlled. Flow
with it...You did great

Dont know if anyone can help me with this, I set cavemanager sl = 50, tp =50 and no loss after 21 pips, I assume that means after going 21 pips in profit it moves sl to break even, but it doesnt.
I have attached the setup file if anyone can take a look I woll be grateful.

I can not say about cavemanager. may be some one will help. But meanwhile you can try Quik_Trailing_1 found inside the paperclip. that is very simple use EA for your purpose.
