Hi danjuma, the instructions have remained relatively stable, with the different news events being changed as the forex market changes (i.e. because there is no room to decrease rates, and the various CB's are looking to increase inflation, there is very little effect from rates announcements, hence they have fallen into disfavour for the time being, employment and inflation stats are the market movers at the moment, so these are the ones that are concentrated on)

As for which page to read from..how long is a piece of string? I would suggest that you scan through the pages and decide for yourself unfortunately, the thread grows quickly sometimes and then hits a plateau other times...

I think you can start from page 649. However, there is a huge number of posts unfortunately...

Friends, I just woke up to no surprise. Even though Zew Posted some big results 11.5 vs 0.9
its still blasted a whooping 12 pips....wow.. ZEW

Good morning, info on page no 1 is good. The news list will be filtered out again soon. The technique updated on page 1 is fine.

5 sec monitoring

here's a couple of second and tick chart ea's
in which you can make 5 sec charts, or whatever...

they're both a bit fussy, but work on my mt4...

there may be other files needed with one of them, I'm sorry I can't recall, but a google will soon reveal any hidden mysteries, as always...
I think the Offline goes with Flexichart, as it has the same date, so I'm including it...

you can find full instructions online, no doubt, but you basically drop it on a chart,
select how many secs or ticks in the menu,
give it a name to distinguish from 1, 5, 15 min charts, etc,( like 55 for a 5 sec chart)
wait a minute or two to let it start building,
then go to file > Open Offline > eurusd55
and you should have it at that point.

Hello Bernhard,
Click and hold on the time tab on your chart.
Select Edit at bottom of list.
It brings up user preferences and you can then add or delete any of the timeframes in the period column

Hi Tony,

I backtested 'only buy’ strategy and 'only buystop' strategy since 2010 (unemployment news). The results are quite similar, but ‘only buystop’ strategy gives more even distribution. With one pending order whipsaws/double losses are avoided and spread 20 pips is bearable. The only big problem would be slippage. You said there is no slippage with SLs at your broker, what about slippage with pending orders?

And why don't you trade xau/usd during nfp? Some spread/leverage issues? It seems even with spread 30-40 pips (i.e. sl 25-30 pips) it is more profitable to trade xau/usd instead of eur/usd or any other usd pair, tp is hit more often.
